What's better than beers and a picnic on the beach? A flashback to the gorgeous @orpheusisland - a foodies paradise in @tropicalnorthqueensland. The lovely staff packed us a a delicious picnic and we sailed away in our dinghy to a secluded beach to enjoy. Can't wait to share the full story with you in @gram_magazine summer edition next month.
We found this little guy and his mate wandering about near the road 🍂His buddy was curled away, trying to hide, but this one wandered right on over for a photo 📸
They're usually pretty shy animals so it was weird but cool to see one so calm and inquisitive!
The short beaked echidna is one of only 5 species left in the monotreme family (mammals that lay eggs). The other 4 are 3 different species of echidna and the platypus.
They use their long tongue to eat ants, termites and other soft insects (they have no teeth!) and will curl into a ball with only their spines showing when they feel threatened. .
