On behalf of the Hvorostovsky family, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dmitri Hvorostovsky – beloved operatic baritone, husband, father, son, and friend – at age 55. After a two-and-a-half-year battle with brain cancer, he died peacefully this morning, November 22, surrounded by family near his home in London, UK. May the warmth of his voice and his spirit always be with us. 💔😢🙏
Hi loves!! 🙋🏻 How are you today? 🖤 .
I’m currently reading a short story by Stephen King called 1922, which is pretty good so far 👌🏼 My plan is to post a review for both the short story, and the Netflix adaptation that recently came out 🎞 Do you think that’s a good idea? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to have your opinion! .
What about you, what are you currently reading?
@lostinlit_becca posted this amazing pic. I’m so excited for later! Remember to look out for my live chat with @booksandpeppermintea as we travel to Westminster for @therealsjmaas Tower of Dawn book tour.
I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT ✨
Unfortunately it's not anything cool, though 😢 I wanted to let you all know that this will be my last post for a while 😭
I'm moving back home for the summer and then I'll be transferring to a different university (hopefully) in a different state, but we don't have wifi at home and because it'll be summer the whole time I'm there it's very unlikely our blinds will be open enough for me to be able to take any photos. I'm also not very happy with my feed as it is and think it would be good to step back and figure out where I want to go with it.
So, for the reasons above, I've decided to go on an indefinite (posting) hiatus 😐. I'll still be around, liking and commenting on your photos and messaging whoever feels like speaking to me 😂 but I doubt I'll be posting.
You can keep up to date with what I'm reading or contact me via Goodreads (link in bio) or by checking in every now and again. I'll keep my current read up to date in my bio just in case anyone is curious or wants to have an amazing bookish convo 😊
I'm going to miss posting and taking photos but I'll be back by late January/early February!! Don't forget about me 😂
In the meantime, HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR. I HOPE YOU ALL EAT SO MUCH IT HURTS AND GET ALL THE BOOKS YOU WANT FOR CHRISTMAS AND THE START OF 2018 TREATS YOU WELL 🎄🎁🎉 I LOVE YOU ALL 💕💜
I should mention that the photo is one of the bags I have my books packed in. There's four packed. I could've sworn I didn't have this many with me 😂
HAPPY READING!!! 😘❤
I’m a big lover of ghost stories, so this novel tempted me greatly! I love the cover art, so hopefully the story matches my expectations 💙 I’m about 100 pages in and waiting for the action to pick up!
What are you currently reading?
I still haven't read this book but the cover is gorgeous! I'm currently reading three books so it might have to wait a while for me to get around to it 😅
How many books do you read at one time?
Normally only one but sometimes more than one, especially if I'm getting bored of on of them...
6 Motivos para ler #Confesse , da #CollenHover
1 - As confissões, como forma de inspiração para a obra artística, formam uma corrente sanguínea de significados que verbalizam o lado irracional da arte;
2 - Colleen demonstra uma crença inquebrável no amor como a salvação para o ser humano, o que contrasta impecavelmente com a experiências sombrias que seus livros causam;
3 - Sem soar piegas ou kitsch, Colleen novamente desafia o leitor a crer nas coincidências do destino para embarcar numa grande história;
4 - Confesse toca com delicadeza em temas como relacionamento abusivo, estupro, drogas, depressão e família;
5 - Colleen escreve de forma a deixar bem claro quais são os 3 atos da história, e reserva a cada um desses pedaços um momento perfeito de colisão e emoção;
6 - A narrativa pelos dois pontos de vistas, marca da autora, funciona muito bem e impede que a imersão seja unilateral.
Q: Have you ever joined a bookclub? ❤
❄️🎄☃️ OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: A CLASSY CHRISTMAS ☃️🎄❄️
I already shortly announced it earlier this month, but I'll be doing another classics bookclub in December! 🎄 Together with 16 lovely ladies, who've already said they'd join, we're going to read three classics together and discuss them in the group chat! ❤ It was so much fun when I organized it in July, that I wanted to make it a twice-a-year thing! 😄 Definitely let me know if you want to join this time! I can still add you to the groupchat 😄 (the groupchat is in Messenger, because the group was getting too big to fit in an IG groupchat 😉)
We already decided on the books we're going to read, which will be:
❄️ The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
❄️ The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen
❄️ A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
#letswritenanowrimo2017 Day 22: Second word to describe your novel? Celtic 😄 the story is largely based on Celtic Mythology! 😄😄
We've been told to pray. So here's a stab: Lord, please make sure the crooks behind this mess get locked up in cells with the same density, with not enough room to pick up a bar of soap but get the same stiff penalty. #mrt#utterly#criminal#aba#ya
The title of the next ACOTAR instalment is: A Court of Frost and Starlight! I'm absolutely in love with it already! From Sarah's newsletter: "this tale bridges the first three books and the upcoming spinoff novels. It’s a bit longer than a novella, but not a full-length book. ACOFAS takes place several months after the events of ACOWAR, during the Winter Solstice, and both Feyre and Rhys narrate it (along with a few others!)
It comes out May 2018 and I'm almost shaking with anticipation; I can't wait to dive back into this world 😍
Good morning 😊
I am home today and watching my lecture from this morning 😒
But it's actually fun 😊
Later I'll be at a birthday but hopefully I can read some more tonight. I'm about 200 pages into A Conjuring of Light now and it's so good 😍
What are you doing atm? In life I mean.. are you at Uni? Are you working? (You don't have to tell me obviously) ☺️
