Family day out at the Tanaka Farms x Sanrio pumpkin patch! 🎃😺 We picked some pumpkin to take home, rode a wagon around the farm, saw a pumpkin launcher in action, and made some friends at the petting zoo! #tanakafarms#pumpkinpatch#sanrio#hellokitty

Zoom in, friends. That look right there is of a very happy traveler. @kidaugustine had the best time in @VisitTucson and we can’t wait to return with @civilmatador in tow! (We need someone to take all our photos! Haha!) **There are dozens of murals around downtown and historic 4th Ave. we spent one afternoon mural hopping- stopping for some ice cream at HUB after we hit a few of our top spots. Have you been to Tucson yet? When are you planning your trip?!
The crazy thing about fall is not just that it’s one of our busy seasons. Because it is. Especially when Greenville weather keeps extending summer 😂 But fall is also our planning season. Financial planning (we see you taxes and retirement). Scheduling for 2018 weddings. Talking about the future and growth of our business. And this time last year we were planning for our 5 year anniversary trip to Paris 😍 oh to be back walking the streets of Paris hand in hand! We’re taking trip recommendations for next year - we’re open to staying within the US or wherever requires a passport! Where do you think we need to explore next?
I have the basic outline for next weeks 'creative copy with ease' but I would luuuuv to hear from you!
What would you like to discuss - what hurdle would you like to overcome with writing copy for your business? 👇🏼
Being married and living an hour away from your parents and where you grew up isn’t always easy. The days I get to spend with my parents now are the days that I really cherish the most. Today, my mom and I had breakfast together, went antique shopping, and ended the day taking selfies after I did her makeup. I love her more than anything and appreciate her so much. So blessed to have this momma. 💕✨ #momma#love#family#appreciationpost#blessed
I took a couple days off to enjoy fall break with the kids. But before we left, I made a lot more progress on the patio oasis. I knew I wanted to add art to the large blank space on our house so I created this tropical art based on my favorite Hawaiian quilts. #linkinprofile#housefulofhandmade
Today, I stared at a blank screen for about one minute, thinking about what I would write about, for my fall blog series. Then it hit me.
In the background, the noise that fills our house on Saturday and Sundays in fall, gave me the topic for my #write31days blog post.
The sound of fall, in my house anyway, for my family, is football.
I’m surrounded by this game, this noise, this game in the fall months, as well as in the winter. The rooting. The screaming. The cheering. The noice of fall.
I’m okay with the noise. After thirty years of marriage, the sound of football gives me comfort. It’s family. Sometimes, at a game, at a bar, it also gives me fun.
I don’t know too much about it, I don’t really want to. It’s just something that rules my life in fall. So, I wrote about fall and football||link in profile||
Are you a fan? A super fan, or like me, do you just tolerate it? I’d like to know.
Have you ever seen a powerhouse woman? You know the ones that hustle hard, are on top of it and are so successful? Have you ever wondered the work that was put into it to do it? They work crazy hours, they go above and beyond. They make goals and work to crush them. They manage to run their business and have time for family. They are up early to sneak in that workout without kids. They meditate.
Sometimes we see the end picture and think ‘Hey! I want that. It can’t be that hard...’ but the truth is, it is hard. So to all you #hustlehard women who work hard for your success, this is for you 🙌🏻. #lularoecarly#lularoeshirley
Y’all I wish I had something prettier to share but I seriously sat in front of my computer all day learning photoshop for my new blog post & while it was good I was definitely thankful for a night off at a wine dinner with people at least 30 years my senior if that tells you anything😂✨ Happy weekend yall!
My 20th High School Reunion is coming up and I have struggled with whether or not to attend. This is strange for me to discuss on here because I believe a number of old friends and acquaintances follow along but I figured as long as I am having a no filter kind of week I may as well put it all there. First of all, I have to fly across the country on a less than ideal weekend. As long as I am doing the no filter thing this week I may as well just put it all out there. I have spoken about this a lot but social media is rather bizarre, isn't it? Platforms like Instagram and Facebook have been wonderful for my growth as an artist/ business owner and in turn personally, but it's also just a really strange part of life that our parent's generation didn't have to deal with. Many of us from grade school are "friends" with eachother on Facebook and therefore already know much of what is going on in eachothers lives, which is just weird. It's great and weird. There is something about these forms of contact that take away from the mystery and excitement of events like these. And because I am so open on here and have shared so many tidbits of my life and myself and my heart I kind of feel uncomfortable. Kind of. Anyway I rarely get to see the few friends I do keep in touch with (who I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with) and there are many people I would really like to see, even if we stand there having awkward conversations because we already know each other's life story. The reason I decided to share this here is because this piece is what happened when the jumbling in my brain leaked onto the canvas, and helped me make my decision to go. While some pieces need no explanation I really felt like this one deserved it. 🙏🖤💕
Acrylic, pastel & graphite on canvas, available framed as well
A common mistake is the belief that mixed emotions are evidence you are confused, that you must consider your options long and hard before a decision van be reached. In truth, all they are is proof that the correct path has not yet been revealed to you. Have patience. - d.j.
"Humidity" 10x10" acrylic and oil pastel on @american_easel wood panel/ Sometimes I overthink my paintings, trying to force them to be one way or another, chasing some idea in my mind of what they should be. This was not one of those times 😊. Exploring, pushing, growing, changing: the mantra of the artist.
Let the record show that I tried a new hair part today & it just wasn’t my thing - my hair keeps getting stuck on my eyelashes LOL. I feel like Jackie from that 70s show 😭😂 also, I love @hey_its_christi_8 😘 as you can see, I eventually gave up on the hair 🤷🏻♀️
This man will wander for hours looking for the perfect restaurant.
He'll share a bottle of wine with me with zero objection.
He will stroll into a local pub and dance the night away with tons of locals.
And then he'll do it all again tomorrow.
