Place the back of your torso against the back pad of the machine and hook your shoulders under the shoulder pads provided.
Position your legs in the platform using a shoulder width medium stance with the toes slightly pointed out.

I was becoming uncomfortable in my clothes, self conscious of my problem areas, and turning into what I worked so hard to get away from. Enough was enough. .

This past Monday I recommitted with the 38 other ladies in our group. I’ve been following a loose keto diet, meaning I’m not counting macros, calories, etc, but I have cut carbs and sugars (with the exception of dinner and cake for my moms birthday). I took a break from my workouts for the week so I could get back in the swing of cooking, planning and prepping meals without totally overdoing it. #absaremadeinthekitchen I’ve been drinking my ketones daily, taking an electrolyte supplement once a day and hitting my daily water intake goal. .

Hopped on the scale this morning and I’m down 5 lbs in a week!

It’s SO simple, I’ve been trying all new recipes which have all been awesome, I’m not starving myself and I get to eat cheese and bacon. 🤷🏻‍♀️😍

So many of you guys seem to think meal prepping is time-consuming, expensive and/or tasteless by the end of the week. I’m here to say it’s definitely more manageable than you think! Here’s what I do each week (usually Sunday):

.1️⃣ Browse @sprouts app to check their weekly flyer and add items to my grocery list. I usually base my meals around the main protein or big ticket item that is on sale. Eating items on sale = in season = better flavor. . .
2️⃣ Google for recipes based on what items I plan to buy! @skinnytaste and @smittenkitchen are my all-time favorite food bloggers that I look to for meal inspiration! Obv some recipes freeze better than others; check the comments to see what others think. I find that tomato-based recipes taste even better overnight.

3️⃣ Head to the store and pick up all the items marked from the weekly flyer, plus ancillary ingredients that the recipe calls for but I don’t have on hand. Having a grocery list ensures you don’t forget anything AND you’re not buying things you don’t need (something I’m guilty of 😬). I find that I spend around $40-60 on groceries for two people each week.

4️⃣ Prep, cook and pack items in tupperware. I use the instant pot a lot (@skinnytaste Instant Pot Beef Picadillo pictured above) to reduce amount of time spent hovering over the stove.

This process takes me roughly 3 hours each Sunday, which is almost a method of self-care after a good morning sweat sesh. I hope this post inspires at least one of you to give it a try! To be completely transparent, I don’t prep EVERY single meal of the week in one go. I still cook dinner fresh on some days, and sometimes I prep on both Sunday and Wednesday to keep things interesting. It all depends on your schedule so there’s no wrong way to do it. Teriyaki ground beef stir fry.  Makes 4 servings- scroll for ingredients.  Just sauté together and add cabbage last.  Couldn’t be easier!  I have been obsessed with any stir fry recipe including ground beef and cabbage lately.  This recipe is amazing and easy, though a bit high on the sodium because of the teriyaki sauce, so just gotta watch that and drink more water. Current obsession: spiralized beets! 🌪I didn’t have the usual zucchini (or actually, anything 😬) in my fridge for dinner last night, so I tried my hands at a spiralized beet pasta. And OH EM GEE. It was incredible. So incredible that i recreated it for dinner tonight! It’s amazing what you can create when you don’t have all of the “right” ingredients. And that’s what I love about cooking: making something out of supposedly  nothing. It’s so empowering!

@fitchickscook -  Lately, I've been getting a lot of questions around what I eat for breakfast or why I don't eat before noon. Well, if you're new to following me, I do 16-8 intermittent fasting which means I eat between 12-8 pm (8 hour window) and fast for 16 hours. During my fasted state, I can still drink water, black tea or coffee, no added sugar or milk/cream.

Here's the details for this week's prep:
Lunch 12 pm - Grilled chicken burger (pre-made) with sweet potatoes "buns" served with steamed broccoli and raw peppers. Green apple on the side. 
Snack 4 pm - Two boiled eggs, assorted cherry tomatoes, raw sliced jicama. My other option is not in this pic but in my previous post. It's a zoodle salad with two boiled eggs. 
Dinner 8 pm - Pan seared wild salmon fillet, steamed watercress and one whole baked sweet potato with half an avocado.
P.S. I will post the recipe for the zoodle salad tomorrow! Stay tuned.

You asked and here it is, opening up to you guys about my life outside fitness 🙌 I don’t shop often but when I do, I love my little boutique’s like @francescas and @rubyjane.valleygirlboutique here in Denver 💃 There are days I want to go out in leggings and messy bun...but on my off days when it’s a feel good- non errand day I’ll dress up and spend the day drinking coffee with clients and walking around the boutiques in cherry creek! ✌️ it’s ok to dress up and still be a hot mess at the same time 😂 we aren’t perfect but that’s what makes life interesting 😘😘
You asked and here it is, opening up to you guys about my life outside fitness 🙌 I don’t shop often but when I do, I love my little boutique’s like @francescas and @rubyjane.valleygirlboutique here in Denver 💃 There are days I want to go out in leggings and messy bun...but on my off days when it’s a feel good- non errand day I’ll dress up and spend the day drinking coffee with clients and walking around the boutiques in cherry creek! ✌️ it’s ok to dress up and still be a hot mess at the same time 😂 we aren’t perfect but that’s what makes life interesting 😘😘

Instead of focusing on what you weigh, think about how you FEEL. You should FEEL healthier, have more energy, be less anxious/depressed, etc. Remember weight loss (if that is your goal) is only one benefit, of many, that comes with increased exercise. Don’t get so wrapped up in that one aspect that you fail to appreciate everything else. 💛 #thoughts

The last few days have been nonstop so days like today when I get the chance to sleep until late afternoon...we’ll let’s just say that option is very tempting! I am still unable to workout due to my back injury😩. But I am still here. Controlling the controllable. Eating clean🥕🍎 Trying to show my body some love🧘🏻‍♀️ Focusing on learning from this experience. It’s helping me practice patience⏳ Which is NOT one of my virtues 🙄  But... I have challengers CRUSHING IT in our 80 day group right now!!! 👊🏻😍 it makes me SO happy to see how this lifestyle is helping other people the way it has helped me. And it gives me some crazy FOMO 😭 I wish I was there doing it along side you guys! 😭😘 I could not be more thankful for everyone’s support and inspiration despite the fact that I can’t workout.
