🥂 Feel good Friday 🥂 Often this hashtag is accompanied with a picture of some sort of alcoholic beverage to mark the end of the working week and the beginning of the weekend. On occasions I too would look forward to finally sitting down, relaxing and putting my feet up with a glass of wine or nice cold beer but this Friday I am feeling good with some #Kombucha .
Kombucha is a naturally fermented drink made with tea (in this case green tea) and a #scoby which is a Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast #acroymn and a sugar source (can be your pantry cane sugar, honey or fruit based) to feed the scoby. Kombucha contains probiotics which is beneficial bacteria and yeasts that help keep your gut healthy, optimise digestion and support the immune system. It also contains naturally occurring enzymes #papein#bromelain that help digestion of food in the stomach and also a number of B vitamins & Vitamin C. So it is worthwhile sometimes substituting your usual weekend drink for 1-2 of these #cheers
I used to make my own at home but after I went on holiday it was neglected and forgotten about for a few weeks and my poor wee Scoby died 😢. This shop bought version #synerchi is extremely tasty and you could almost think it is a light sparkling cocktail. It is on the lower end for sugar content and calories compared to some brands and also it is #irish . It comes in a variety of flavours but I particularly enjoy the #gingerandlemongrass . #guthealth#guthealing#probiotics#optimise#digestiveheath#synerchi#immuneboost#digestiveenzymes#feelgoodfriday#nutritionist#healthyeating#nutrition#eatwellbewell#nutritioncoach#functionalmedicine#supportlocal#greentea#scoby#fermentedfoods#functionalfoods
Studying the Spanish subjunctive, found an acroynm I can get behind.
