Mixed media Quartz crystal painting... (of some description, no ref). 👇
Quartz crystals generally have a metallic or iridescent sheen to them; this is due to the crystals being bonded with metals, as a result they are often used as gemstones, healing stones and/or general decor.
The blue quartz is bonded with gold which gives it its aquamarine blue shades, due to this it is other wise known as the 'Aqua Aura Quartz'. This stone is widely used and supposedly very popular as a healing stone for finding balance - said to have a calming effect on the emotional body & exceptional for releasing negativity or stresses. The Aqua Aura is also believed to stimulate the throat Chakra, enhancing ones ability to express themselves constructively, positively & freely. 🔸FYI: Personally I've never used stones (just wanted something to paint) but if anybody who could be arsed reading down to here has, I'd love to hear about your experience/s. Comment or DM 🤙🏼
Having a cup of coffee and reminiscing about summer mornings in my studio! It's time to close up my garage studio and bring supplies inside and continue my work. I'm thankful for my cozy little Gray House.
Hello All. Wanted to give you this weeks contest early so you all have more time to work on your paintings. This weeks bird prompt was suggested by @faces_of_the_endangered. Checkout this eleven year olds art work. She is amazing. This week's bird is a Philippine Eagle, and I must say this bird is truly Regal. It is the Philippines national bird. It has red coloured plumage, and a shaggy crest, and generally measures 86 to 102 cm (2.82 to 3.35 ft) in length and weighs 4.7 to 8.0 kg (10.4 to 17.6 lb). It is considered the largest of the extant eagles. Among the rarest and most powerful birds in the world. It is critically endangered, mainly due to massive loss of habitat resulting from deforestation in most of its range. Killing a Philippine eagle is punishable under Philippine law by 12 years in prison and heavy fine. I have provided four different pictures. You can use any of them or one of your own choice. Lets open this up to all art mediums. You can use whatever you like this week. I will be giving away a mini set of our acrylic paints to the winner. Share this with anyone who might enjoy taking part. ----------------------------------------------This is open to international artists as well. Be creative and have fun! One entry per person.
