We all know that playing sport has huge benefits for our children's development, but how do you approach getting a child involved who is more inclined to play video games?
Here's a few tips: ➜ Lead by example – be physically active yourself.
➜ Make sure that some family outings offer opportunities for physical activity, such as playing sport together.
➜ Encourage your child to walk or ride their bicycle for short trips, rather than rely on you to drive them.
➜ Support your child’s efforts in sport. Make sure you’re there at each match, cheering them on from the sidelines.
➜ Set time limits on sedentary activities like computer games and television.
➜ Consult with your child’s school on ways to encourage greater participation in sports and physical activity.
We are thrilled to have Coach Tammy with us again this session who has subbed for us in the past. Having taught preschool for many years, she an experienced teacher. She is very active and has a love for running!
🤗 enjoying #thebodrestart || Baby boy kept me up last night, with an extra cupa coffee I’ve managed to do my exercise and stick to meal plan. Before when I was tired I’d grab something sweet and I feel like poo after! Not anymore
😱Are you flipping kidding me?? 🤸♀️ Today I got to surprise my mom with the coolest present ever 🎁
A present my #sidejob gave me, simply by helping others get healthy and fit 👭👭 A present that I never would have been able to give had it not been for #thissidegig !
I was rewarded an invite only cruise for 2 to the Bahamas next year 🚢😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😱😱 This was something to be honest, that I wasn’t even working towards 😬 I simply just want to help others, knowing how much this journey has changed my life. But when amazing opportunities come into your life you say “HELL FRIGGEN YA!”😍😍😍😍 Saying YES, to my coach a year ago, terrified to spend 200$ for a year of working on me getting healthy and fit just earned me a whole frig cruise to the Bahamas ahhhhhhhhhhh! 🚢
So tell me are you ready for your “HELL FRIGGEN YA?” Grateful, Grateful, Grateful 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
Miss S this morning after our long #walk to the park (which was filled with dramas let me tell you 🤦🏾♀️ A dog attacked our pram because it smells like food 😳 and Miss S slipped through the baby swing - I’ve been fearful of this for ages- she’s fine 👍🏾). The point I actually want to make (apologies for the diversion) is that lots of my patients who are parents get very worried about all the guidelines and recommendations for kids (and being type A I used to get obsessed with it all as well). We want to do the best for our kids so you look at how much dairy is suggested per day, fruit, vegetables, iron, how much activity they need. You read that screen time should be limited, teeth care should start early- the list goes on and on. I tell my patients not to get too caught up- and I tell myself the same thing; repeatedly! We try our best, you can’t be the perfect parent- it’s impossible. No one can live by all the guidelines- and if they do they probably aren’t living. Miss S would survive on crackers and fruit all day if she could but I try my best to try other snacks - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but I’ve let go a bit and realised I can’t win every battle. A tip - in this snack box is peeled and cut cucumber and she loves it 🙌🏾❤️ Point is- pick your battles and let some stuff go- some extra fruit, or crackers won’t kill them. The battles I choose to fight as a mum- sun safety (I’ll battle for the hat all day) and having a varied, fun diet filled with fruit and veg. Sometimes it all works, sometimes it doesn’t. Parenting 101- go easy on yourself 😘 PS unintentional all pink today 🤦🏾♀️ PPS we found crab meat for Willy’s birthday dinner - thanks everyone for your help 🙏🏾 PPPS if you know any parents who might like to hear all this- tag them ☺️
Same exercise 3 levels. I am conscious that so many videos on Insta and social platforms are really tricky and not totally suitable for a lot of people. I try to always include some entry level videos and break it down in the captions.
Teaser with toes touching - keep neutral spine with toes on floor supporting balance - Draw pelvic floor up andvell button in - Tuck butt under and gently roll onto spine using your draw in and up to shape hour spine and create the movement - Return to start position / neutral spine
Teaser with toes off, bent knees
Repeat the same cues as above but control the speed and movement when you roll back up to come into a balance.
Teaser with straight legs
I am probably not quite up to this but you get the idea. - straighten legs and gently hold calves/knees/toes - Repeat above cues keeping legs straight
