If you’re burnt to the ground, the best possible thing you can do is not train.

I understand the fitness quotes and language are all about ‘killin it’ and ‘getting it done even though you’re exhausted’, but I promise you, if you practice these mantras for long enough, you’ll be in a hole so fuckin deep - mentally, physically, emotionally spent, you won’t know what hit you.
.
Trust me, I’ve been there too many times before. I have classified myself as an ‘all or nothing’, type of person. I’m either all in - balls to the wall with energy, or all out. The reason I was all out’, was often because I was exhausted, going through another sickness, emotionally wrecked, all because I haven’t listened to my body when it was screaming at me to STOP.. so I went and hit more training sessions, creating MORE stress.

Luckily for us, there are biofeedback tools to measure this type of ‘progress’.
.
My clients measure their nervous system conditions daily/weekly to ensure they’re actually going to reap the benefits of their workouts.
.
If you’re living mainly in your parasympathetic nervous state (PNS/rest and digest 👍🏼), your body has a strong ability to tolerate stress and can easily recover from accumulated stress.
.
If you’re positioned lower into your sympathetic nervous state (SNS/fight or flight 👎🏼) this means you’re ability to recover from training is decreased, your body changes it’s fuel source to a faster, and easier to create source (sugar) - being your muscle. Meaning you’re now catabolic (burning muscle) in doing so, shuts down your fat burning pathway as it’s harder to turn a fat cell into triglycerides.

Stress is supposed to be in our life, but not as frequently as it is these days with work, family, finances, emotions, and physical stress such as work and training. 🕺🏼

Trust me, I’ve been there too many times before. I have classified myself as an ‘all or nothing’, type of person. I’m either all in - balls to the wall with energy, or all out. The reason I was all out’, was often because I was exhausted, going through another sickness, emotionally wrecked, all because I haven’t listened to my body when it was screaming at me to STOP.. so I went and hit more training sessions, creating MORE stress.

Luckily for us, there are biofeedback tools to measure this type of ‘progress’.

My clients measure their nervous system conditions daily/weekly to ensure they’re actually going to reap the benefits of their workouts.

If you’re living mainly in your parasympathetic nervous state (PNS/rest and digest 👍🏼), your body has a strong ability to tolerate stress and can easily recover from accumulated stress.
.
If you’re positioned lower into your sympathetic nervous state (SNS/fight or flight 👎🏼) this means you’re ability to recover from training is decreased, your body changes it’s fuel source to a faster, and easier to create source (sugar) - being your muscle. Meaning you’re now catabolic (burning muscle) in doing so, shuts down your fat burning pathway as it’s harder to turn a fat cell into triglycerides.
