Long time no see. Just finished #mbb at home week 4 arms, push&pull. Finally feeling the strength coming back to me. Still a lot of things going on. My daughter will leave us on January 3rd for a Highschool term in North Carolina. She’ll be staying in Charlotte for 5,5 months with an awesome host family I couldn’t be more happy about! They live in Charlotte, have a large house, a pool, 2 super cute small children and seem to be the nicest couple. I’m so happy for my daughter and relieved myself. We had to do a lot tasks in advance. Several check ups by doctors were required, immunization had to be refreshed, millions of forms had to be filled in, photos had to be taken, a passport to be made and finally a visa had to be applied for. All very time consuming. No Christmas shopping done yet, I’m afraid 😱. I’ve had little time to think about her leaving but now almost everything is prepared the dark thoughts of anxiety and sadness threat to sink in again. I hope I’ll manage not to let them overwhelm me. I’m such a whimp when it comes to saying goodbye. I guess I secretly think no one will ever come back to me. At least this makes sense in a psychological way. Still keeping up with my workouts 6 days a week. Eating habits could be better though, too many carbs and a shortage of greens. Mmeeeh 😬 Doctor is giving me intravenous infusions with vitamins C, B and other homeopathic ingredients to battle against exhaustion and fatigue and I’d say they help. Cutting back on Instagram has helped my time management, too, but I’ve been spying a bit on you still. Thanks to @hbbonn18, @fitoverfifty.bbg @ai_ling_neo and @telle.balanced.life for checking in on me. xoxo to the #virtualsquad#whenlifegivesyoulemonsmakelemonade#adrenalfatigue#weightlifting#corporatesneakers#workoutmotivation#currentsituation#bbg#fitover40#momscanbefit#northcarolina#charlottenc
Me and my body have gone through a lot the last few years. And while doctors ignored my requests for help and told me it was my own fault I kept gaining weight, I finally found the answer(s) this year. 💚 Autoimmune thyroid disease, stage 3 adrenal fatigue, significant hormone imbalances all played a part in wreaking havoc on my body. I ended up in hospital last year, feeling like I was having some kind of stroke or that my body was shutting down. 🏥 But one thing I’ve learnt this year on the way to figuring out how the hell to get back to a healthy state of being, is not to hate my body when it’s not doing what I want. I need more rest. 😴 I can’t eat gluten or dairy anymore and alcohol and caffeine just messes me around (dammit!). But I can also go to the beach and go swimming - and take a photo, without being embarrassed. And to anyone who criticises without knowing someone else’s story - well you know where to go 🖕🏼

Blueberries are a great fruit that is low in sugar and full of antioxidants. If you have candida you shouldn’t really eat any fructose however I have found that blueberries are fine for me and like anything it’s about moderation
What’s your favourite fruit??
Our values are what guides us in life. When we align with our values our life seems 'balanced'. When we are out of alignment things just don't feel right.
So I ask you, what are your top five values?
Mine are - integrity
- balance .
I would love to know yours

Let’s talk about STRESS because I have gone through a condition called adrenal fatigue a couple times in my life and want to give tips on how to help reduce it...it takes “time” to get adrenal fatigue but if you stress over a long period of time then this can happen.
Stress is a normal part of everyday life. It may happen for a day, a week, a month or even for years. .
If you feel like you’ve been stressing everyday for a while then this post could be very useful for you 🙏
If I were to ask 10 people where their stress comes from, there will be a variety of answers like their children, family, work, finances, etc. whatever the case may be you want to find the root cause of it and be up front about it because over time you can hinder your body causing the stress hormone, CORTISOL, the number one health enemy for the body.
It is known for years that elevated cortisol levels interfere with:
✅learning and memory
✅lower immune function and bone density
✅increase weight gain
✅cholesterol ✅heart disease
✅interfere with sleep
Question: what can I do to reduce stress?
✅proper amount of sleep
✅mediate (quickest way)
✅eat healthier (more from the earth)
✅avoiding sugar and alcohol
✅surround yourself with positive people

🌿💦Fountain of Youth💦🌿 The anti-aging wonder of our time, asparagus contains a world of life force within each young shoot ~ as each was destined to become its own small tree🌲
This full and potent life force and propulsive energy within the shoot is transferred to us when we eat it 🍽 helping to keep us young and working to prevent neurological disorders and symptoms 👌🏼Asparagus has potent cleansing and detoxing capabilities ~ including the specialised ability of after driving toxins such as heavy metals, DDT, and other pesticides out of organs, specialised phytochemicals stay behind and repel new toxins from taking up residence there. This makes asparagus an amazing tool for battling virtually every variety of cancer.
Asparagus has high levels of readily available and absorbable B vitamins, which when we are under immense stress, deplete rapidly in our bodies. Also high in silica and trace minerals like iron, zinc, molybdenum, chromium, phosphorus, magnesium and selenium, asparagus is one of the most adrenal supporting foods in existence. Helps to bring you back to life when your adrenals have been pushed to the max. Extremely alkalising, flushes unproductive acids out. All round legend.

ROASTED SQUASH, CARAMELIZED FIG & FETA SALAD. I've made this salad 3 times this fall and it's been delicious every time. It's a perfect holiday salad because it has a touch of decadence.⠀
Ingredients you need:⠀
- 1/2 acorn squash, sliced⠀
- seeds from 1/2 a pomegranate
- 2 Tbsp of olive oil ⠀
- 1/4 C raw honey⠀
- 1.5 Tbsp of fresh thyme leaves⠀
- 8 figs, sliced med size (not thin)⠀
- 3 C of arugula⠀
- small package of goat cheese⠀
- 1/4 C of your best olive oil⠀
- 2 Tbsp of lemon juice⠀
- 2 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar⠀
- zest from one orange
- 1/2 Tbsp of thyme leaves⠀
- s & p to taste⠀
Preheat the oven to 425oF. Cut your squash in half, then take one half and slice it (not too thin otherwise it will burn in the oven). Toss the sliced squash, 2 Tbsp of olive oil, honey, 1.5 Tbsp of thyme leaves and some salt. Pour onto a parchment lined baking sheet and put it in the oven for 15min or until the squash is semi-soft. Be sure to check it every so oven and give it a good toss so they are cooked evenly. ⠀
For the dressing, simple whisk all the ingredients together and set aside.⠀
Then take squash out of the oven and toss in the sliced figs. Put back in the oven for 6 to 8 min. Take out of the oven and let the squash & figs cool down a bit. Place the arugula in a dish, put the squash and figs on top, top with the goat cheese & pomegranate, pour dressing on top...and voila! You have an entertainment worthy salad⠀
It doesn’t take much.
To change your life and to see results.
Sure you have to put the work it, but just change ONE thing in your life could me the difference of 10 pounds!
I tweaked my macros just ever so slightly and added in a little more weight training and my body completely transformed.
The little changes overtime equal the greatest gain. What will you change?
Fishing is one of my favorite pastimes. It is extremely calming and soothing to the mind. As diabetics and suffers of chronic illness it is extra important to not overdo it. Adrenal fatigue is a real thing. Even if you don’t have chronic illness the fact that you are on the phone, social media, email, traffic (I was just in L.A.) etc it is so easy to get overstimulated. There is something about the calm, quiet and focus of fishing that always relaxes my mind. Have a hard time relaxing in meditation? Try some fishing…It might actually deepen your practice.
The past 6 months have been a big change for me.
I measure anything & everything that goes into my body.
I speak with my nutritionist @kgamelier of @nova3labs of a bi-weekly basis.
I carry scales with me everywhere I go.
My feedback with my coach @ed_haynes_coach is more comprehensive than ever.
My body weight is lighter than ever before, but I’m feeling more energised and stronger for it.
Is this for everyone? Definitely not.
But I love having this level of commitment and dedication to what I’m doing. I feel like I’m able to enjoy my training and life more as I’m more detailed and organised in everything I do. —————————-—————————-————————

Organic foods taste better – Have you ever bitten into a garden-grown tomato? Remember the delectable tomato taste? Conventionally grown foods have very little flavor compared to their organically grown counterparts. This is partly due to the superior conditions in which they’re grown, and partly due to a lack of toxins. Follow the link in today's bio to learn more! I get that giddy feeling in winter. Seeing everyone wandering around in ski gear, the excitement of uploading the gondola for the first run of the day, waking up to fresh power, hot chocolate after to warm up, nights @scandinavewhis to soothe tired muscles... which is important. This time of year our adrenals can get worked over with our competitive, go-go-go winter life. Ensure you’re doing calmer things to balance out the stoke of the winter to ensure you don’t get burnt out. It’s a long winter, let’s enjoy every moment fully.
I'm loving our Thursday FREE oils!
These two are staples in the home and I am grateful that doTERRA has include them in our BOGO.
Peppermint is energising, cooling and great to support the respiratory and digestive systems. Did you also know it deters ants and spiders!!
Tea Tree is wonderful in a cleaning spray, good for nits and zits, great for grazes and scrapes and is anti bacterial and antiseptic.
If you are a doTERRA member you can order these through your doTERRA account, if not and you would like to get started send me a message. I am here to help.
It’s almost Thanksgiving 😝 I am enjoying an easy mellow meal because my fridge is FULL and I can’t find much else🤣 So ground beef 🥩 sweet potato 🍠 and avocado 🥑 ALWAYS hits the spot🙌 This morning as I was prepping it was such a time of reflection for me.....
Not long ago I was a single parent household and doing my damn best to raise a little boy. Lots of hard days. Long days. Draining days. Not that they were bad days by any means but my goodness, I was literally figuring things out for the first time every single day. And he is a boy.... and there are things I will just never understand 🙄☺️🤣🤣 So many thanksgiving’s I sat with my family and wondered if I would ever have a different rhythm to life. If the load would feel even just a bit lighter. If I would be able to pursue my dream beyond parenthood. I had those thoughts for 12 years. .
Well, that little boy is now almost 15 😢😅And life has given us both so much to be grateful for!! The point here? Change IS possible. It may not be easy, it may require a leap of faith or risk taking. It may take a whole lot of believing in yourself! But it IS possible. Whether it’s starting a new workout routine or changing one thing in terms of your nutrition. Maybe for some it’s setting some healthy boundaries or a little more structure in your life to accomplish the goals you’re aiming for. Sometimes it’s just remaining patient and doing the small things each day. Sometimes change happens in weeks or months other times it takes years. .
So if you look around this time of year and feel maybe like you are not sure what to be grateful for because the hand you have been dealt is pretty low, remember it CAN change. It did for me and it can for you. Fight for the life you want and pursue it. Relentlessly. Consistently. Patiently. It is there. Trust me. 💕💕
I love my career. I love the interaction with patients and those who want to up level their health. Everyday is different - challenges fuel me to excel in my skill/art as a practitioner and for that I am grateful. (these are my #deepthoughts as I reach for a slice of Life Changing Bread from @Kingsbakery. Hand delivered by no other than a wonderful patient)🙌 This bread is amazing. Filled with nuts and seeds, grain/dairy/sugar free and delicious. Topped with smashed #avocado and black lava salt for a snack that will have me fueled until dinner.
What is your go-to snack that’s healthy yet filling?
See last two post for what cortisol is and what the best way to test your cortisol rhythm and why it's important. Now what if cortisol is off? If you are in the early stages of chronic stress (external or internal) and cortisol is always high you might feel pretty good. Remember cortisol is a natural anti-inflammatory.
But if stress remains chronic and you never address it (no matter where it comes from), eventually your drain starts to turn down your ability to make cortisol. If cortisol remains high for too long it can actually surpress your immune system. --
As cortisol starts to decrease then you will start to develop more symptoms and start to feel like crap the lower cortisol gets. You no longer have your inflammation protection.
So what are some symptoms that adrenal fatigue or altered cortisol is a problem for you? Check out this post with some of the most common signs and symptoms➡️http://www.theorganicdietitian.com/how-to-know-if-you-have-adrenal-fatigue/
This is how many calories I should be eating on a day when I do NOTHING. Like sleep/lay on the couch for 10 hours and then sitting/working/maybe some cooking for the remaining 14 hours. No walking the dog, no workouts. Which pretty much NEVER happens. So I should be eating 2000 calories/day FOR SURE. But how often do I get this? Like NEVER. Unless I go out to eat maybe. The reality is, I tend to under eat if I don't keep track of what I am eating.
So right now I have been tracking my calories every so often just to make sure I am EATING ENOUGH. How timely since Thanksgiving is tomorrow!! And eating enough calories to maintain your activity level is incredibly important when it comes to maintaining/reaching a healthy weight as well as achieving balanced hormones and regular periods. Have you ever looked at how many calories you should be eating? And did it surprise you? Let me know! #foodismedicine#foodisfuel
Brussels + baby romaine for a light meal/snack. The black specks are sea salt. After steaming, I drizzled EVOO on top and added a little garlic. Got to get all the salt for my adrenals and POTS, especially now that I’ve resumed my regular sauna use!! 🍽🌿
If your weight goes up, the fact is, the numbers didn’t necessarily climb because of your body fat—the scale doesn’t actually measure that. Daily fluctuations are almost always the product of water or inflammation, and your scale simply doesn’t know the difference. It’s lumping bone, fat, muscle, and water together and weighing them all at once.
Dinner last night was ALL the veggies 🌿🍋 ft raw carrots (good for processing excess estrogens), baby spinach, tomato, parsley (good for alkalising every part of your body), zucchini, beans, sweet potato (promote productive bacteria in stomach, intestines, colon) and lemon (to bring the life back in to anythinggg) 🍆🥒🥕for those who watched my stories, I had bad die off /treatment day ...I literally put everything aside and just accepted that all I was going to do was routines to help me detox and get those baddies OUTTA there 💨 When you’re liver is SORE and you’re dealing with toxic overload, turn to veggies, fruits & herbs 🍌🍑🌱it’s the only thing that I know won’t cause me to have a food reaction (from the toxic load). Also up your level of detox game - rebounding, emptying bowels, sauna, coffee enema, bath ...whatever floats your boat, but just get those toxins moving and eliminated 💦👋🏼
People talk a lot about what they want out of life. The changes they want to make and the goals they want to achieve. And I have always been curious about what sets the people who actually do or get those things done apart from the rest of us. What about them or their habits means they have higher performance? Last week I was at an event where @brendonburchard dropped that knowledge on us and the first thing that stuck out to me was clarity. People who get what they want more frequently than others are always very clear on what they want. Out of life, but even more than that out of every situation and interaction they have. Transformation and change won’t ever be a thing that happens TO me, it’s going to happen BECAUSE of me and the actions I take and habits I develop. So this is me, taking control and getting really fucking clear on what I want.
If you want change, you gotta know specifically what it is you want to make happen. Write it out, in detail. How are you going to get there? Why do you even want to get there? Transformation always begins with clarity.
Can I take a sec to celebrate?????

🇬🇧 (See post "Project Hack sleep"). I have had a blueblocker app installed in my mobile since March and I'm never going back! The original light is so strong that turning off the filter by misstake makes me uncomfortable. Although I haven't observed any obvious improvements I know that the filter has an indirect, longterm effect. Minimising blue light supports a healthy circadian rhythm, which is crucial for sleep and stress control.
Are you a stress bunny prone to adrenal fatigue? The signs of adrenal fatigue can be exhaustion, constipation, restless sleep, and body aches (to name just a few). Adrenal fatigue occurs when the body is placed under continual stress (operating in fight or flight mode for long periods). Our poor adrenal glands can’t keep up and we eventually crash. Our immune system becomes compromised and we find the simplest of tasks challenging.
Finding ways to better manage stress is vital for women’s health. Increased stress hormones can throw our whole system out of whack— effecting our menstrual cycle, moods and overall health.
What I love about yoga is within this beautiful system there are scientifically proven ways to not only reduce and manage stress, but ways in which to tone and massage important organs involved in the stress response.
Shashankasana (featured here) is a simple sequence that works into the adrenal glands— bringing circulation and massage to those exhausted adrenal glands. Additionally it tones the pelvic muscles, sciatic nerves and works into the reproductive organs (helping with hormone function). Regular practice will help strengthen the back muscles & realign the vertebrae, relieves backache and constipation.
Working slowly with the breathe can calm anger, anxiety and frustration. It has a cooling effect on the mind 😊
To practice: start seated on the knees— inhale to lift the arms up, exhale to fold over the thighs, stretching the arms out in front. Practice for 3–10 mins. I practice in the morning to awaken my spine..You’ll feel so much calmer & ready for the day 🙏
