One of my most memorable dives! Jumping into #CenoteDosOjos in #TulumMexico 😍 It was such a magical dive! .
🌎 #TravelTip : After watching all those movies about how dangerous Mexico can be (thanks Hollywood 😞), I was not sure how safe it would be to take a taxi from Cancun to Tulum on my own.
I asked my friends & thankfully one of them has a friend in Cancun who could drive me & took me to eat street food!
So when planning your solo travel, ask for help & don't believe those movies ❤ @travelistajen
This ray of sunshine, my cousin @flannelsecrets, is one of the most emotionally fluent people I know, and one of the most bountifully joyous. She's been through a lot at a young age, but she always has a smile on her face, and a kind word to say about even the most difficult people. And almost no one I know is as good at genuinely enjoying the little things in life, like a cup of coffee or one of her homemade bagels. She's like the sprinkles on your donut in human form. I'm so proud to have grown up with you, Katie, and to see you become wildly happy on your own terms. ✴️🌼 🌵🐕🍩☕🕉️
I've been nominated for my first blog award, The Liebster Award For my 'Is travelling an accomplishment?' post. (LINK IN BIO) Thanks Ellie! Here's one of my accomplishments whilst travelling, hiking the famous Roy's Peak, New Zealand ⛰
To find out more about the #LiebsterAward head over to hanexplores.com and see the questions I had to answer. I'll be nominating a few blogs on Friday! 💛
Coco Chanel said that true beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself. The journey to being myself has had its rocky moments but I'm determined to keep it fun. Get out there and do what you love friends. Life is short, embrace it and adventure on! ❤️🤠🦄👸🏻💪🏻💪🏻🤘🏻
After about 8 months of eating very limited amounts of meat my stomach has finally told me to give it up for good. So to celebrate I decided to post a photo I took right outside of our tent of some cows grazing in a field 💁🏻🐮
Life was meant for good friends and great adventures! Being back in Wilmington was so amazing. I felt at peace and at home. So thankful for all of my amazing friends that took time out of their weekend to make me feel special! I can't wait to come back 💕
'The yoga pose is not the goal.
Becoming flexible is not the goal. Standing on your hands is not the goal.
The goal is to create space where you were once stuck. To unveil the layers of protection you’ve built around your heart. To appreciate your body and become aware of the mind and the noise it creates. To make peace with who you are. The goal is to love, well… You.
Come to your yoga mat to feel; not to accomplish.
Shift your focus and your heart will grow.' 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 #yoga#yogisofinstagram#namaste#yogi#yogaeverydamnday#yogainspiration#yogafitness#outdoorfitness
With little over a month left in Utah, something didn't feel right about leaving so soon... I decided to request an extension to my current travel contract and an additional 2 months in these magical mountains has been granted to me! Now calling Utah home until late December 💕#utahisrad#travelnurselife
I could not get enough of the tacos & guacamole in #LeonMexico ! 😀 Wish there is an authentic Mexican restaurant back home in Malaysia
🌎 #TravelTip : Leon is the capital city of shoes here but this Asian girl with petite feet could not get any shoes!
Smallest size here starts from 36 ( I wear size 34.5 😯) ❤ @travelistajen
It was a privilege for me to attend the "Posado" Festival on Christmas Eve at a nearby village in the middle of the desert. The doll of baby Jesus was taken from the manger & placed on a white cloth held up like a cradle by 2 people.
The cradle was then passed down by hand from one person to the another for blessings & prayers. The villagers formed 2 rows & stood patiently for their turn. Sparklers were given out continuously to create light & cheer. .
Once everyone had their turn, the doll of baby Jesus was returned to the manger. Candies were then given out to the kids. The whole festival went on till 4am on Christmas morning 😀
🌎 #TravelTip : This is what I ❤ about travelling. It is the opportunity to experience a different culture & festival as well as meet people from diverse backgrounds. There is no way you can imagine how your life can be enriched by each & every new encounter.
I would never have this experience if I remain behind my office desk. I am glad that i had taken the courage to travel solo. So take the chance to travel whenever you can & to farflung places. Open your heart & embrace all that is new. After all, you only live once ❤ @travelistajen
Timing is everything.
Sometimes you fly to Cleveland to celebrate the love of the happiest and most bubbly couple (CONGRATS @victoc & steve) and your awesome friend from @ohiodanceteam @lisabeggs is there at the same time for another wedding.
This @greetingstour mural was getting a touch up & it was so cool to see one in person.
The desert colours of #SanCristobalMexico . The people here were super friendly & I was the 1st Asian to visit their village. Thank goodness I have my friend @balderasramon who was my translator 😀
🌎 #TravelTip : In winter, the days were nice & can be quite warm. However, the nights here were a different story. It was freezing cold! There was no heating in the house and water had to be boiled for hot showers. I am forever grateful to Ramon's mum 😘
I was blessed with warm hospitality & a mountain of blankets to snuggle under at night. Be prepared to wear layers of clothes, socks & cover your head, ears & neck. ❤ @travelistajen
The majority of my trail time is spent either reflecting back on my past life experiences (usually the negative ones) or laughing about random things. What I can say is that no matter how painful the experience it will be something that you will never forget. Yes you can move on from that experience in a positive way but bottom line is you most likely will never forget. So as you live your life it’s extremely important that you treat others as you yourself wish to be treated because if you wrong someone that memory of how you treated them will be with them the rest of their life. This person may move on from it or sadly it may be causing them pain all because of your selfishness. Just remember if you were to run into this person that you hurt the first thing to run through their mind will most likely be that negative experience. So if you wish to move on in your life and live a peaceful one it’s best to treat others in a positive way cause we all know karma is a bitch and eventually it’ll come back to you whether you like it or not. End of lesson ✌🏻
At the colourful mercato (market) of #GuanajuatoMexico . Since it was Christmas Eve, locals can be seen carrying dolls of baby Jesus to buy new clothes (swipe 👈)
🌎 #TravelTip : Best way to explore Guanajuato is by foot due to its narrow streets.
Visited the Museum of the Mummies (El Museo de las Momias) which I did not feel comfortable taking photos. It was quite an eerie experience seeing these exposed mummified bodies. Definitely not for the faint hearted! ❤ travelistajen
This weekend is already off to an awesome with celebrations for @victoc & Steve! 👰🏼🤵🏼🍾 SO happy we can be here & celebrate their love! -
But first, catch ups with @greetingstour & Honeybear. ☺️🍻
The famous Teatro Juarez with interesting architecture #GuanajuatoMexico
🌎 #TravelTip : I travelled by bus from Mexico City to Guanajuato. Head towards North Bus Station (Autobuses del Norte) & ensure that you allocate sufficient time to catch the bus as the traffic in Mexico City is pretty bad.
Journey to Guanajuato will take 5 hours and food + water will be served. ❤ @travelistajen
