Backpacking through the alpine along 'Mountaineers Routes' alone with your dog is certainly a challenging and at times terrifying, and ultra-chossy experience. We bagged 5 new summits and continued to learn and grow as a mountain team. After a week by our selves in the alpine it was a little maddening to return to 'civilization', but that's only more motivation to get back out there. This time we are going to explore somewhere closer to home that we've always wanted to experience. #squawesomefrank
Todays adventure destination is the Stairway to Heaven on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii 🇺🇸

Known officially as the Haiku Stairs this trail will challenge you all the way to the top, but will be one of the most rewarding views you will have ever earned. At the end of the trail lies the Haiku Radio Station that was built back in 1942 by the U.S. Navy as a top secret radio station for the ships in the pacific. Thus, a long wooden pathway to the top needed to be constructed and still remains to this day. The bad news is, it is technically illegal to hike the the trail due to safety concerns and a guard watches the entrance most of the day.
Do you think this hike is really a crime?

Todays Adventure destination is the stunning city of Venice, Italy 🇮🇹 If you’re looking for a place to travel and have never been to Venice, then look no further. This is truly a place everyone needs to see, and sooner versus later because with rising sea levels the city won’t be around forever. It’s currently sinking at a rate of 1-2 millimeters a year, and is projected to be underwater within a century 😭
Upon arriving to Venice you immediately are immersed into a place with a rich culture that has been timelessly preserved. The city is built on a series of 118 submerged islands, and has no roads. There are 400 foot bridges and 170 boat canals that makeup the transportation for the city. One of the best ways to explore the city is to just start walking. The winding roads and seemingly endless streets make the city one giant scenic maze.
Pictured above is a sculpture called “Support” by the artist Lorenzo Quinn. The hands are supposed to be supporting the hotel from falling in the water due to rising sea levels and is symbolic of the threat climate change has on history, but also the power that mankind has to stop it.

Todays adventure destination is the colorful Wisteria Tunnel that was built in the Kawachi Fuji Gardens in Kitakyushu, Japan 🇯🇵 The breathtaking tunnel is a 5 hour train ride from Tokyo by high speed rail and is home to about 150 wisteria flowering plants across 20 different species (white, blue, purple, violet-blue, and pink). This is what gives the tunnel its amazing amount of color and its fairy tale look. The best time to visit the tunnel is from late April to mid May (depends on the weather each year). This natural wonder is certainly a sight you won’t soon forget, and a definite addition to any bucketlist.

What I have always known about my mother is that she is a special soul, through all our differences I know her love is strong in every aspect of my life.
Her warmth, kind spirit, depth and vibrancy have been a dear part of her that I cherish. I knew since my teens when she told me that Tofino was her favourite place in the world that one day I had to take her.
15 years later I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity of taking my mother to Tofino! It is an unforgettable memory and trip that has rekindled our friendship but more importantly unravelled a greater understanding towards one another.
Although we are different people we share a commonality through our love for one another, our family, and a special travel memory that will always connect us. ❤️
Coming down after almost a week solo above 2000m in the Coast Mountains brings mixed feelings. On one hand I am happy to be alive and look forward to the time to process the terror experienced, but on the other hand I just wanna be back up in the alpine. Most of all I'm just happy to still have this guy by my side 💜 #squawesomefrank
Every Monday, we have the pleasure of reading thank you emails from the weekend's parties. We always pass on feedback to the brilliant team, but don't tend to share.
But actually, we're being a little British! We're extremely proud of what we do and also how happy it makes the birthday child and their friends.
So here's an excerpt of an email from a guest's dad. So not even the birthday child's dad. Super duper chuffed 😁😁💥💥✌️✌️🎂🎈🎉
Hot Springs Cove lies 26 nautical miles up the coast from Tofino at Maquinna Provincial Park. For thousands of years, natural thermal hot springs have poured out of the rocks and spilled out on the edge of the Pacific Ocean in Northern Clayoquot Sound.
The hot springs is left in its natural pristine state and you can enjoy the authentic landscape of nature while bathing in the healing hot waters.
It's nature at its finest!
