Chai ☕️ ➰ Anyone who has been to India knows that Indians live, love and breathe chai. You can’t be anywhere in India without seeing, smelling, tasting or being offered chai! You could say it’s the social lifeblood of the country in some ways, as no visit to someone’s home is complete without chai. The wonderful thing about chai is it’s available everywhere, it’s cheap, it’s cheerful, it’s delicious and it’s so comforting. ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
Roadside stands, street stalls, cafes, Indian moms- everyone makes it slightly different but chai is basically a milky tea with certain spices.
Here’s MY recipe! - (All measurements are per 1.5 cup – multiply for the number of cups or medium-sized mugs you are making.
3/4 water plus 3/4 cup milk (whole is best!) Sugar to taste
Roughly ~2 teaspoons per cup loose black tea leaves (Ideally Assam or Ceylon tea – English Breakfast will do)
Some or all of the following (measurements are medium-sized mug): 2 green cardamom pods (crushed)
1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
1-2 pieces cinnamon (real cinnamon sticks if possible!) Fresh smashed ginger (2-3 thin slices for extra zing)
Heat water and milk. Before it comes to a boil, add fresh ginger (with skin, sliced into thin rounds), if using and any or several of the following: a few pods of green cardamom, Cinnamon stick, fennel seeds, and/or cinnamon. When the milk / water mixture boils, add loose black tea. Turn off the heat and let steep for 2 minutes. Add sugar to taste and stir til dissolved. Pour into a cup(s) through a sieve to strain out tea leaves and spices. Enjoy! ☕️ According to the Urban dictionary, Chai is “The word for tea in several languages, including Czech, Turkish, Russian, Sanskrit, and Farsi. Originates from cha, the Chinese word for tea. Well 89% of you voted on my stories that you didn't mind Finn taking over my feed, which is a relief because, you know, addiction is addiction... BUT remember when I wasn't a baby bore and I posted fun stuff and was annoying because I was always on holiday? SURE YOU DO. Anyways, the baby honeymoon is over and I'm tiptoeing back into the game with a new video on @passportstampsuk from our epic #roadtrip across #NewZealand - give it a watch for me LINK IN BIO and if you don't already do so, follow my professional account @passportstampsuk because it's 2018 and I'm BACK, BABY. #Pstravels 🌏

Have you ever traveled to a place and found that it lodged itself in your heart and left you feeling changed? That’s how Nepal was for me! 4 years later, I still find myself day dreaming about the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, the smell of incense permeating through the air, and the thrill of standing atop a Himalayan mountain peak staring at the boarder of Tibet. Another reason this place seemed to resonate with me so much was seeing the mantra I have tattooed on my ankle on every prayer wheel, prayer flag, and painted all over buildings. I know I’ll go back there someday to spend some more time getting lost in the most incredible and mind blowing view I’ve ever seen—those snow capped Himalayas. Nepal will forever have my heart 🙏🏻 What’s your spot?
I hope you’re happy today & if you’re not I hope u have the strength to choose happiness anyways :) 💛😸 The pre-sunset moments always have a way of lighting up the landscape and reflecting these beautiful warm tones onto it. it’s definitely the most inspiring time of the day.
Be the master of your body. Once you nail the basics, you can have some real fun.
