No fear, it was just a #shooting for an exhibition against #violence . An elderly lady came into this underpass and remained visibly shocked. For my luck it was the time before the mobilephones... I went to her and convinced her to go past the scene after the bad man had removed his mask. Such times #behindthescenes are unforgotten.
I decided to surprise @roryearnshawphoto with a new office today. It’s Tuesday, so why not, right? Seriously though, I can’t remember the last time my heart felt this full. When I look at my life today, and compare it to this time last year, I don’t recognize myself- I mean that in the best way possible. My life is easier, quieter, a hell of a lot more sustainable, and -most of all-happier. No part of this happiness depends solely on others. For the first time in my life, I don’t ruminate over the possibility of losing it. What's lost can be regained, with patience and time. I’m acknowledging the many blessings I have in my life, and one of those is my amazing father. Today, I did something to express my gratitude. I spent the day putting his new office together. (Please excuse the crappy iPhone shots lol.) Setting up the digital area was the first and most challenging step. I wanted everything to follow a logical workflow, which is great, but scanners et al. get pretty heavy- especially when it's your third time rearranging everything. My favorite piece is a coffee table I repurposed. A year ago, my Uncle gave me my father’s earliest archives, which he kept when my parents moved to the states. Since my entire extended family lives in the UK, we don’t have a bunch of family photo albums laying around. The objects on the table are so special to me because they’re our history. My father’s history. I treasure that. If you look closely, you’ll see negatives, contact sheets, prints of my mother when she was younger than I am now, self-portraits of my father, and a letter from Pete Townshend. After arranging everything, I sealed it with two panes of glass- kind of like a photogram. My father wouldn't display his work like that (and I get it) so I decided to do it for him. I've taken people in my life for granted. I've changed- I'm still changing, everyday. Hold your loved ones close and tell them how much you love them. It's easy to forget to acknowledge those closest to us, and usually those who need to hear it most are told the least.
CanoScan 4200F, Do-it-yourself Durchlichteinheit.
