Happy Weekend !
Crisp air, pretty leaves. It is indeed one of our favorite seasons with the colorful leaves that warm our soul and great time to travel. A Sweet Chili Love autumn in Nami Island, S. Korea.
Taken from our rooftop airbnb in our favorite neighborhood. // It’s Friday! But as a freelancer, this doesn’t mean much to me anymore haha🙈. Racing to finish up a couple new Fall and Holiday design releases for the shop. If you catch my story, you can see a peek of one in progress. Countdown from a week!

Just as I am dealing w/ bad news, I get a wonderful SURPRISE in the mail yesterday from our 2016 #airbnb 5🌟 guests (and mom) who brought a few tears to my eyes after reading her VERY sweet note of how much she LOVED her stay w us! Thank you @genyak - (also was an Airbnb #Superhost too) for your kindness, but you couldn't have known that your unexpected kindness really made me #SMILE and gave me warm fuzzies during a very difficult time in my life! 😘😘

I took this class 4 times and had a breakthrough in art.
One of the things I love about Dahlonega is the diversity of the people. Many years ago I played on an Atlanta Lawn Tennis Assoc. team. Formed 85 years ago, ALTA prides itself in its rich ethnic diversity. It is the only sport where you can find a very poor kid from public housing competing against a very wealthy CEO from Atlanta's northern suburbs...and probably winning. ⠀
Dahlonega's diversity is slightly less noticeable yet still very evident. The restaurants and shops are frequented by a diverse cross section of the town's population. Young couples enjoying a night out after saving up for a babysitter. College students celebrating their testing accomplishment. Senior citizens attending their weekly meet and eat group. Families discussing news and its implications. Sports teams reminiscing the latest game. Sunday school groups discussing their next church benefit. Neighbors enjoying time with each other. Friends eating and catching up on the latest news. Festival planners fine tuning their plan. And finally tourists enjoying the sights and sounds and silently wishing they lived in a town just like this. ⠀
In this picture, the river runs. Period. If the tree's leaves are green, in full color, branches bare, covered in snow, or about to bud...the river still runs. ⠀
This stream / creek / river beautifully does what she was created to do. She doesn't make us build a bridge to cross her. She's not deep enough to drown us. She isn't crowded with crowds of fishermen. She didn't show up one day and want to change the forest into something it's not. She's not manipulating, she's meandering. She gives life to those who choose to be around her. She babbles along talking to us in a relaxing way inviting us to both stay and to comeback soon. ⠀
Not every stream is the Snake River. Not every creek is the mighty Mississippi. Not every river is peaceful. Sometimes just being who we are, as Goldilocks proclaimed "is just right". ⠀
From the student to the retired executive and from the restaurant staff to the small business owner - enjoy the diversity Dahlonega freely offers. Don't try to change her or she won't be what she was when you fell in love with her.
