The third time is definitely the charm for G.L. Young of California. At 74 years-old he drove up from the Lower 48 to hunt #moose in Alaska--after two previously unsuccessful attempts, he took his moose near Delta Junction. #HuntAlaska#Alaska#hunting
Evidentially it was Alaska day a few days ago and I completely missed it. Alaska is easily one of my favorite places in the world for multiple reasons. I first went there to pursue the dream of being a salmon fisherman. That brought me to the town of Naknek in the Bristol Bay and I was hooked. For the past 3 years I’ve been exploring the state in all of its wonder. Barely scratching the surface of it’s large mysterious landscape.
This is a photo at the end of the road. Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. And ugly place surrounded by the magnificent tundra of the North Slope. You can go more north than this but it requires an escort and of course money. Luckily enough I was asked to drop some scientist or at its airport and seized the opportunity and of course nabbed a tourist photo.
Thanks to everyone who marched with us and cheered for us on Wednesday! We showed off our best local climate solutions to send the message to our elected officials that Sitka cares about climate change. In the face of national inaction, we’re taking local action. 🌍🌏🌎
The experience seeing the glaciers was one of the biggest surprises of our trip. This stands 40 stories high, and is 1.25 miles wide. You could feel sound of seemingly tiny pieces of ice calving off hit your chest. It was truly incredible.
