#latergram : In the event of an emergency or natural disaster, such as Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, animals of all sizes may need help. The DPH Office of Animal Welfare recently held a Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue training at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in #harringtonde to teach Delaware Animal Response volunteers and emergency responders the latest rescue concepts, techniques and equipment for large animal rescue. The training was conducted by OAW's Delaware Animal Response team in coordination with the Delaware State Fire School. #Animalrescue#largeanimalrescue#netde Photo credit: Natalie Osorio, Delaware State Fair.
My favorite photos of Sabal and I. If you want to meet her come join me at the Everglades Outpost Wildlife Rescue tomorrow for hurricane cleanup!!
Hurricane cleanup at the rescue, help needed!!! If you like my photos like this one at the Everglades Outpost Wildlife Rescue then come join me to help out in hurricane Irma cleanup efforts this Saturday! I'll be there all day Saturday starting around 9am, if you can make it at any time after please come help! Even if it's later in the day! Be ready to clear brush and debris, bring plenty of water, gloves, and tools. Animal care is also needed such as feeding and cleaning. Any help is greatly appreciated! If you're competent with a chainsaw(and especially if you have one) that'd be great, but only if you know what you're doing with one! If not just your hands and a good attitude is all that is needed. If you can make it send me an email or DM. It's all volunteer work but you'll be in good company and the animals need the help! This photo is one I took of Sabal the panther at the rescue. #everglades#rescue#animalrescue#florida#panther#cougar
ARCHIE is saved!!! FREEDOM RIDE!! 😍🐾 Thank you to Pat B for alerting me as I left the shelter with Archie that others we're willing to foster Archie. I pulled my truck over and started chatting with this lovely woman in Apex and that is where Archie is now with Jennifer and Steve U. Thanks to everyone who shared and spread the word so now Archie gets a second chance at finding a great home.
Archie says thank you guys!!! 💗
Happy Friday, everyone! This is Apricot. This little guy had to undergo surgery at just two weeks old, which left him with a little nub instead of a tail. Somehow, we think that makes him cuter than before, it that's even possible 💕
This face 😭😭😭
We're gearing up for our Hurricane Irma Adoption Extravaganza tomorrow and Sunday at the cat shelter from 11A to 4P both days. Come meet our Irma evacuees, we know they'll steal your heart. ❤️

Our girl came to us with 2 broken legs, once healed we took her to #adoptapalooza where she was quickly adopted, in fact 3 separate family's wanted her! Thank you @mayorsalliancenyc for hosting such a fabulous event! .
Please consider making a donation in her honor, that way we can continue to save more kittens and cats like her... https://www.classy.org/checkout/donation?eid=127094 (link in bio)
Yesterday we saw an urgent plea for help on facebook to help a cat with serious facial injuries. We couldn't look away, so today we went to see her and we set up our cat trap. Sadly we couldn't catch her, but we spoke to the neighbours and we got more information. She fell from a 2 and a half meter drop over 3 years ago onto a cactus type plant and her injury kept on getting worse over time. Tomorrow we will be back to try and catch her again. 💔
My name is WuSU and I'm 4 years old. WAAL saved me and my 5 babies from being euthanized. I'm very shy but give me some time to get to know you, and the real me will come out; spoiler alert: the real me is AWESOME. I love to be where you are without being clingy but I do like some lap time! I'm black and gold, (hence the name WuSU for Wichita State) so I'm already dressed for game day! I like other cats and feel more confident and safe when they're around. I will tolerate quiet dogs but prefer a calm home without a lot of chaos; if there are children, they should be older kids who can respect my fear of loud noises/sudden movements, which will have me retreating under the furniture; I feel safest when I'm under things.
I do like to play, but on my own terms. My favorite toys are fishing lines and feather toys and I adore my cat tree! I might hide for a few days when you first bring me home, but be patient, cause when I emerge, we're going to be lifelong buddies! The perfect home for me would be with older adults who have 1 or 2 other cats, no dogs or very quiet dogs, a cat tree and a quiet space for me to feel safe.
I'm litterbox trained, spayed, vaccination, microchipped, dewormed and FeLV negative.

*Want to give animals their second chance like WuSU's awesome fosters? Apply at WAALrescue.org/foster-app. WAAL pays all expenses!
Prayers needed for our boy Nathan. For the past two weeks he hasn't been feeling well. Lethargic, loss of appetite. When we took him to the. ER we discovered he also had a low fever. They did blood work and x rays but everything came back normal. He was put on antibiotics and he started to eat chicken and other tasty foods. The next day he was feeling a bit better and for a while we thought he was on the mend. But then he started to decline again and he returned to the vet. He was tested for a tick born disease called babesia but that test came back negative. Last night he didn't even want to eat chicken or any other tasty food.
He is at Blue Pearl in Queens right now for an ultra sound but the ultra sound didn't reveal anything abnormal. It's a mystery why Nathan is feeling so bad. They are giving him supportive care right now and we will continue to do everything we can to get to the bottom of this.
Nathan came to us from a local shelter. He was brought in by police as part of a neglect case. He was too stressed living in the shelter and was transferred to our rescue. He was able to decompress in his foster home and was starting to build confidence and blossom when he became ill suddenly. We feel so bad for this poor dog who can't catch a break.
Please say a prayer and hold a good thought for Nathan. He needs all the love and positive vibes he can get.
If you would like to make a donation to help us pay for his continued vet care, donations can be made to SaramaRescue@gmail.com through PayPal. Any amount is greatly appreciated as his vet bills are in he thousands and we still don't know what is wrong with our sweet boy.

One down, one to go. A pair of kittens are living under this storage shed near my house. The classic Wile E. Coyote trap worked for the first little girl; now it's time to get her sibling. #cat#kitten#kittenrescue#animalrescue
Some great people making a difference in the community joined us on the show this week. From @UnstoppableTracy raising accessibility awareness to John O'Hurley from #Seinfeld racing around the city for @HSC_Winnipeg, @CarbonePizza trying to find abandoned animals homes & @ChantelMarostica @SashMark spearheading a comedy show @Club200 celebrating diversity, there are plenty of events to explore in #Winnipeg !
