Drafting Chronicles was so much fun! These are the notable cards we opened in the 15 pack 5 person draft. I have enough packs still to do it twice more.
I never got to play back then (i was like 4.) So ive never opened arabian nights or legends (i did open a pack of antiquities at gp vegas at least!) So this was a super fun set to experience in a casual kitchen table drafting environment. It really felt like "playing what you have". One of my friends designed his deck around Giant slug's landwalk ability and runesword with the tron lands to make it work. He 2-1'd me!
My favorite moment of the night was when my opponent's Gabriel Angelfire faced off against my Fallen Angel. Turn after turn we used combat tricks and abilities to try to beat the other. Kei Takahashi, D'Avenant archers, safe haven, sacrificing creatures to the fallen angel, transmutating the fallen angel and indestructible auras were all used to try to gain the upper hand in this war. In the end they finally slayed eachother with nothing left to save either of them.
Also, Witch hunter won me several games I would have otherwise lost. That card is insane.
A glimpse of the ancient from the new. The Acropolis Museum has a stunning view of the Acropolis and an even more stunning collection of antiquities on display. I have to say, with this modern state-of-the-art facility, it’s a stretch to say Greece cannot take care of the Elgin Marbles 😬
