The Lost Engines, Saturn V Rocket Booster, Museum of Flight, Seattle.
Amazing story behind this beautiful piece of engineering history. "The volcanic first stage lifted a 36-story Saturn V Moon rocket off of the launch pad and accelerated it up the first 40 miles of flight. Fuel spent, the first stage and its F-1 engines detached from the Saturn V as the upper stages continued on Apollo’s journey to space. And the first stage—this thunderous, fire-breathing, breath-taking tower of tech perfection fell into oblivion. Job done. Imagine the splash it made as it fell from space and into Atlantic Ocean. While Apollo reached orbit, the engines that got it there were already forgotten, sinking deeper than the Titanic." "They lay lost at the bottom of the sea for 43 years until discovered and raised by Seattle-based Bezos Expeditions in 2013." #space#saturn#rocket#nasa#history#spacetravel#apollo#museumofflight#washington#boeing#pnw#photography

Well it's Anna Popplewell's birthday so I might as well post this! Recently, I've been seeing Peter and Susan as Apollo and Artemis. (Even though they aren't twins and some of the more obvious things.) First off is appearence. Peter is blonde and in more recent pictures of the actor, he has a bit of a golden tan. Then there's Susan who has dark hair and skin almost as pale as the moon. Personality wise, Peter and Susan seem to be total opposites: harsh and gentle, sun and moon, ect. Yet they're both strong warriors and work so well together.
Okay can we imagine a modern au where Susan and Peter dress as Artemis and Apollo for Halloween? They get an invitation for a party two days before Halloween and they have no clue what to do. So Susan, being a genius, goes on a spree at a craft store and turns some bedsheets into silver and gold masterpieces. Peter is the best brother on earth and lets his excited sister put some bronzer on him and one of those small gold flash tattoos shaped like the sun on his forehead. Luckily, his hair usually covered that part so he didn't feel entirely stupid. Everything is smooth sailing at the party and Peter finally understands why girls are cold on Halloween.
Yes, it's almost Christmas and I'm thinking about Halloween. There's still Count Chocula and Frankenberry in the cupboard, I'm listening to one of the Dracula musicals, and I'm freaking out over a website that sells fragrances based on classic literature, including a Bram Stoker cologne and Mary Shelley perfume. You have no clue how much I love Mary Shelley. Hopefully I get some of those perfumes for Christmas. Well I should start making Christmas cookies now so have a nice day!

#Wikileaks Part 3.
More emails surfacing from 2014 of astronaut Edgar Mitchell to #Clinton 's campaign advisor, John Podesta.
In it Edgar Mitchell proclaims, "Fifty years ago Battelle, Brookings, and #RAND studies on UFOs convinced the government to remove knowledge of the extraterrestrial presence from the citizens of our country." What's intriguing is Battelle, Brookings was a 1960 commissioned report created by the Brookings Institution collaborating with #NASA .
The reports purpose was to determine the implications of such a discovery on human society, which they concluded to be disruptive to science, religion, and society in general.
Read the report for yourself, it talks about other life being "discovered through our space activities on the moon," and CONFIRMS my previous post of the 'War of The Worlds' broadcast's purpose of studying the public's reaction to such an event.
More leaks include emails from Robert Fish, #Apollo museum curator, about how 'hard scientific data' can be collected on UFOs.
