Connected up the swirl filter to the Aquaponics system today. The students finished this project last year but didn’t finish sealing the tubs so it was left, but now it’s half going.
The swirl filter is used to remove particles of fine fish waste. Suspended matter in the form of fish poop, floating debris, food particles are removed to clarify the water that flows back to the system.

Throwback to desert living.
I am taking a graphic design course and it’s forcing me to look through all of my old pictures. I might post a few that were buried under the silt that filled every crevasse of my life. From the corners of my lips to between my sheets, that Molokai red silt has forever stained my soul. Stained such as glass or Merlot on a white teeshirt, forever I’ll remain uncertain.
On the first day of classes at @umiamirsmas, we are looking forward to an amazing semester with new tanks under construction, juvenile mahi in the greenhouse, and broodstock tanks of cobia, flounder, mahi, and others! It will be wonderful to continue our work with our friends at @openbluecobia, @recover_gomri, @aqquuaculture, and @noaa. Here's to a year of progress and new beginnings! #aquaculture#miami#hatchery#TheU
News reports about mercury and pollutants have left many wondering if fish is still a smart choice. Instead of paying 5,000 for a meat cutting course in Vermont, I decided to get a job where they will Pay for the Professional Development and the Certifications to enter the Industry. #Agriculture#Aquaculture
Sneak peak!!!!!!!! So after the first try to catch a glimpse at these babies, they ran away at our next try (smarties) as seen in our insta stories.
So we moved to another pond and went for a basket dip, of course this time there was no escaping.
Well now that we be taken a good at them, we are so contented. .
We should be rolling our our maiden unit fish sale from next week, we’ll keep you posted. .
Good evening!!!! 🤗🤗 #forthworthfarms#farm#agriculture#aquaculture#fishery#tilapia#fish#fishes
Our Social Workers and Directors frequently travel to visit reintegrated children and their families to complete mentoring, assessments, and get to know more about each family member and his/her needs. The Narh family is one such partnership, and they have a lot of family members! The older boys (all in blue) – Rafael, Solomon, and Kwabena – were reintegrated last April and their entire family unit is committed to care and provide for one another. We're so grateful for each one of them!
