Before the arrival of Europeans and African slaves in the Caribbean, the Carib islands used to be the home of many Native American tribes, most notably the Taino and Arawak people. Unfortunately due to diseases brought from the European colonialists, many tribes were exterminated. However some lived on as mixed raced mestizos, particularly in Cuba and Puerto Rico. The kalinago people of the republic of Dominica are the last pure native Americans of the Caribbean who still maintain their indigenous culture and language
Lol even when I think I learned something a week later I have to unlearn that. It's hard work trying to dig through European lies and find the truth about my ancestors but that's why it's called research & not accepting false doctrines.
People wonder why I now wear little to no makeup, it's because of something my ancestors told me that I honestly never thought about. They said and I quote: ''Daughter, you're hiding us, your natural beauty represents us, we are in your features, every time you apply the amount of makeup that society approves, you look different, you look like someone else, you don't look like us and we feel hidden. Never wear an amount of makeup that hides or distorts your indigenous features, show them proudly, show the world that an ethnic group they think is extinct is still alive, and how ancient your DNA is. Show this society that has been hating us for centuries that you dare to exist. We want to be seen, allow us to be seen in your natural features. Not everyone will think you're attractive because they're used to brainwashed beauty, they're used to the beauty that society dictates, not the ancient kind of beauty that you have, but you're beautiful and we love you daughter.'' Yes, that's a resume of all the things they told me. I love you too ancestors, thank you for helping me disconnect myself from society's expectations and embrace my Amazonian beauty more. I'm sorry for not being aware of that sooner. I had no clue. I am proud of you, and I'm happy to inherit your features, our beauty is not common because it's ancient, and that's what make us indigenous women unique.
Han Han Katu! 🍃
So I just got called "black scum" today by a white racist.
So I'm just gonna post this pic in my Tribal glory. Meanwhile I am half Native from my mom and my father is of Jamaican (African) Descent and Arawak Indian. The pride of my ancestors and the beauty of my culture I will not allow any pig to down play. To all my BLACK women and men, you are beautiful and we are still Kings and Queens even though our lands were forcibly taken, our men and women raped, our children beaten and raped, our culture stripped. ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 How about they all go back to Europe! And for the record I deal with racism on a weekly basis even at my job but we get it so much that we just get this tough skin. But at this point I'm sick and tired! And anyone on my timeline who voted for Trump please do ya self a favor and unfollow me!!! Thanks in advance!
