Normally frozen over this time of year and a great spot for ice fishing is Horseshoe Cienega Lake sitting at 8,000 ft/2438 m. This gem is located on the White Mountain Apache Reservation. Ice or no ice the view here is worth the stop and you will find yourself lingering a bit longer than you think you would. Beautiful lake vibes surrounded by pristine snow capped mountains.... #horseshoecinega#azwhitemountains#snow#mountains#apachesitgreavesnationalforest#lake 🐟⛄️🧣🧤
There’s something special about walking in snow that no one else has been on..... The Springs Trail #633 is along the Billy Creek and Thompson Creek riparian areas. Connector trails head North to Blue Ridge Trail and East to Country Club Trail. I have featured all these in previous posts but really find this one to be a gem. In fact if you visit, this is my recommendation. Just 3.6 miles, little to no elevation gain and water features. Today frozen creeks and light snow makes this a winter wonderland for exploring. #pinetoplakeside#azwhitemountains#apachesitgreavesnationalforest#snow#billycreek#thompsoncreek 🎒⛰🌲❄️
Our F I R S T hike of the year! We hiked through the Superstition Mountains to the Wave Cave. Kids were champs... even without the hiking backpack 🤦♀️. (Never cleaning out my car again 😉) * if you are in the Phoenix area, this hike was moderate. I think my kids did really well because we spent all last summer hiking through Oregon - but people were definitely surprised to see us hiking up with a 3 year old 😳 #ourazbucketlist
It was a lovely weekend for backpacking in the Superstitions! Here’s a view of Weaver’s Needle from the Terrapin Trail. Today especially, it’s important to remember to approach life with an attitude of love and respect. Whether directed towards nature or our neighbors, most situations can benefit from the example of Dr. King.
17 days ago I got in a car with my best friend and drove out west without a return date in mind. It has been a nice reminder that my home country has so much to offer. Being back in the USA has also reminded me that the Midwest is freaking freezing this time of year and I now understand why people move out here for the winter. 🏜😅
Sorry to whoever saw this for the brief moment last night. Had to re upload. Apparently Instagram doesn’t like the 4K quality and it looked terrible. Still trying to figure out the best ig setting while exporting in FCPX but I think this looks a little better, I hope 🤞🏼@djiglobal @nikonusa
I can almost see Friday from here... almost but not quite. Where I am currently at for business- Oxford, MS is expecting 6” snow tonight... ❄️ ⛄️ I keeping telling my peeps at the hospital that I may not be able to drive the 1.5 mi in in the morning. (Us Phoenicians don’t know how😂😂)
I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees. - Henry David Thoreau 🌲 #hike2 of my #52hikechallenge2018 . Butler Canyon trail in Greer, AZ. Listed as an easy trail, but the snow, mud, and hyper Labrador Retriever made it much more challenging. 😜🐶
