Alarm goes off at 3:30am. Hike in the pitch black up the side of a mountain just so you can be on top of a ridge at first light to see nature in the wild first hand. Can't explain it, doesn't get any better tho. 😍Hope all the hard work pays off. 🤞🏼
Sonoran Sidewinder (Crotalus cerastes cercobombus) Maricopa County, Arizona. These guys are relatively common to the west and south of the valley. This snake from the East valley is one of the few I've seen from a small pocket, where they seem to have a decent population. I have not seen one further than a square mile from where this snake was observed.
Checkered Gartersnake (Thamnophis marcianus) Cochise County, Arizona. They may be common, but in my opinion they are really beautiful snakes. This guy was spotted about 15 off the road by 🦅👀@cerberuswalker
