I'm making a mess!
Actually, it's a combination of cleaning the house, and making some small changes to the armour. (They're related, right...?) Biggest improvement, I've painted the vents in the front of the shin armour plate.
I'm also in the process of adding straps to the upper leg armour, so I can wear it!
I'm still planning on a helmet, I just keep getting distracted by cool stuff I wanna make... Continuing with the N7/Initiative Armour, here are some detail pictures of the Initiative Armour X Legs, specifically the lower plates.
It was a very rough draft, but it turned out to be very comfortable.
I made the pattern using duct tape, then transferred it to black stretchy pleather.
I 'stitched' that together with superglue, of all things, and attached the armour to it in the same way.
The armour is foam, coated in Cosplayflex.
I tacked some velcro to the top so that the lower knee armour had something to attach to.
It was tricky to make this part, as I couldn't actually get a clear image of the front, although I didn't consider cutscenes when I did this before. I had to have Ryder jump, then screenshot him at the best time to get details, lol.
Maybe on the next Andromeda playthrough I can find a clearer image.
German Tank Destroyers and Assault Guns/Self-propelled Infantry Guns of World War II, Part XX: Gepanzerter Selbstfahrlafette für Sturmgeschütz 7.5cm Kanone Ausf E (Sd Kfz 142) aka StuG III Ausf E
The Ausf E introduced a number of new improvements to the StuG design, along with the addition of the crew being issued one MG34 machine gun for defending against infantry, though they would have to use it by fleeing from an open top-hatch with no gun shield or mount, for protection and stability respectively. The first noticable external change is the removal of the sloped side armor, previously placed in front of the panniers, the reason being, I assume, was for ease of production, but I am not sure. Secondly the right side pannier, as in the Ausf D, was made standard on the Ausf E, these being the half-box-like areas on the superstructure sides. The pannier shape was also changed, being longer and having a slight angle on the front end. Finally the glacis hatch hinges, those on the front-most top of the vehicle, were made smaller than the previous versions used for this purpose.
