The challenge was to shoot our subject in an operating gym trying to keep as many extra faces out of the frame. Then we had to find a way to make the gym look empty and “sad/dark” for which we ended up shooting some individual machines. After going through some of the footage, I think we did pretty good. Producer Kyle Jeffery from @lifetimemediastl had some great ideas while our grip Ricky Jenzen adjusted things on the spot. All lit with an #ArriM18 from our friends at @baddogrentals ; which we placed almost in the middle of the gym. Then we would just rotate it and diffuse it accordingly. I would just find a pleasing composition and movement (they made my job easy). We shot for 3 hours non-stop so we hauled ass like crazy. Shot on the Arri Alexa Mini with Canon 50mm f1.2 and 24mm f1.4 still glass. Graded in Da Vinci Resolve.
