Sometimes I need to deviate from the blues I so often paint with. On sunday we went for a long walk on the beach and I found these tiny little mollusc shells scattered along the high water mark. They appeared fairly unremarkable until I took a closer look and saw that they came in all the colours of the rainbow. 🐚🌈 One of the orange ones was flouro! 🍊More evidence that mumma earth is the first and finest artist! 🌏🖌🎨 I have had a bit of whale painting fatigue lately (it happens!) so I picked out a variety of coloured shells, put them in my pocket and when I came home later that day I set out to paint them. And this is the result! 😀 It was so nice to play with a variety of colour and I think you will see a lot more colour in my feed next year when I move back to the subtropics. I'm so inspired by my surroundings and the rainforest makes for a pretty potent muse. 🌿🌳I look forward to it! But never fear, there will always be whales. ☺️🐳
