"I was set free because my greatest fear had been realized and I still had a daughter who I adored, and I still had an old typewriter and a big idea. And so rock bottom became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life." -- JK Rowling //// Building paintings, one square at a time with some solid #inspiration from the best 💜
Well...things are getting setup for the @hermosafinearts which means you’ll get to see my smug mug on Saturday & Sunday between 10am-5pm. I’ll be right by the info booth - just keep an eye out for the massive Laura Schuler Studio sign.
It’s pretty exciting to be headlining this gig! There’s so many great things happen with art in the South Bay right now.
PS - the biggest thanks in the world to my favorite freckled friend Christina of @soapseas for letting me borrow her tent. You da best!! 🌈💗
It’s taken me a lifetime (well, 35 years) of being an artist to fully grasp the “why”; why do I create, why do I feel so deeply compelled to pour my heart onto a canvas and share that expression with the world. And now that I’ve discovered the many solid reasons, I feel at peace and privileged. It is a beautiful life calling, to do what I love, what sets my soul on fire, and connect with like minded viewers. I’m learning to live boldly in #braveryandgrace
Very excited about my upcoming exhibition at @crushboutique in Boston opening on November 9th! Refreshments will, of course, be served on Opening Night, and a variety of my works will be on display through December. If you are in the area, come by and check it out!
Those trees that’ve been around for many years. Their bark shows the wear of time. Deep roots sustain them. Filtered light nourishes from above. For me, trees inspire to be content with what is. • Mother Tree • 12 x 12 • acrylic on canvas • available in studio #painterslife
Last chance to view the 2017 Archibald Prize which includes gallery artist Jordan Richardson #artoftheday#portrait#artadvisor#artadvisory#michaelreidsydney#Repost @artgalleryofnsw (@get_repost)
It's the very last weekend to see the 2017 #archibaldprize at the Gallery before it heads off on tour! This work by Jordan Richardson depicts actor and director John Bell. 'I wanted to paint John lost in thought, something honest that was more than just John Bell the actor,' says Richardson. 'I initially gave him a Rubik's cube but ended up settling for these little figures that his wife Anna Volska dug up from somewhere. I was amazed at the way a man of such accomplishment took direction from some 24-year-old kid. He was incredibly generous and patient. I hope the portrait captures a glimmer of something beyond the curtain.'
McCabe, Stockholm open Saturday’s 12 - 4 PM though until the 25th November 2017. Louise Nevelson Selected Works: Left: Louise Nevelson, Untitled, 1976 ca, black painted wood, 84,64 x 37 in. Eikowa wishes everyone a very happy Diwali Padawa!
Diwali Padawa, or Baliprada, the day after Diwali, the day that ritually celebrates the love between husband and wife. On this day, husband gives wife a thoughtful gift to honour and respect her life. Many regions in India also perform Govardhan pooja on this day, in honour of Lord Krishna.
The love between a couple is not very easy to see, mostly, it is experienced, it is felt. The mood in the relationship sets the melody, often, they balance each other out. Om Swami’s ‘Mood and Melody 1’ is a monochromatic painting of the love shared between a couple. It beautifully illustrates how a calm, quiet and a joyful mood, can set the melodious tones of dulcet music. The earthy hues of brown, yellow, ocher, along with hints of red and white combine to create a stunning painting which is pleasing to the eyes similar to the sonorous music of love to ears.
