For a little while now I've been following @tania.ni on Instagram. The subjects and composition of her photography is really beauty and surreal (and if you didn't know, I'm a hoe for surrealism)
Feeling quite inspired by her work, I did a study of a couple of her photos but I took a bit of creative license and combined them into one piece
I'm also hoping to do a digital painting of another one of her photos sometime soon •
There are certain times when I become so stubborn with myself that I can’t even deal. (Man I can be a baby about it too.) Last night I was hoping to figure out this toned down burnt orange like color but couldn’t figure it out. After like 10-15 attempts, I broke down and let it get best of me. Once that happens I have to give in and just let go until the next time. I didn’t get the color I wanted, but this Eucalyptus is going to be fabulous for my up coming pieces. Unfortunately/fortunately this piece will go in my “Pretty Little Reject” Pile. Now I have to find the perfect wild flower to match this wild looking Eucalyptus. Any suggesting?
Today I will have a much earlier start to my day. I’m going to walk some pups, and then I’ll be back to make this happen. Enough with my complaining, how are you conquering this gorgeous Wednesday?
Oh NYC, you will always have my heart. I love the energy of the city, but even more than that...I love wandering downtown to find the quiet, charming old NY streets. Feeling the cobblestones beneath my feet. This one is filled with magic light and of course a nude painting. #shadows#cobblestone#figurativeart

So, a subject I want to talk about is ART SUPPLIES AND HIATUS
Sometimes I have no inspiration, sometimes I even think drawing is boring. Well, it happens. Sometimes I just sit and stare on the empty sheet of paper. But you can get your inspiration back 🗻 one of my methods - art supplies. Try to make the process of drawing more interesting using matherials you've never used before, or paper with different structure. Art process shouldn't be boring like lessons in school 🐥 it is more like a game, where you try new things and enjoy not only the result, but the process as well! When you can't start drawing something big, just begin with small sketches in your sketchbook. I often use little colorful stickers, I draw flowers and rabbits on them as a warm-up 😙

#OnThisDay in 1973 Billie Jean King changed history. Later today I'll go live with a tour of my studio to show you how I finished her action figure & answer any questions.
