This summer, I was asked to create a special gift for the very honest, hard-working founder of the Seaforth Construction company. I hope the wood and hammer - tools of the trade - resonates as part of this 25 year commemorative piece.
Nice side story behind the hammer... I had to search out an older, used hammer. I ended up in Nana's Antique store where I asked the Debbie, the owner, if she had an old hammer and explained why I needed one. She said she was sorry that she didn't have any and she walked away, only to reappear cradling a hammer. I asked where it came from so she explained that she'd love it if her grandfather's hammer - the one she used in her own store - the one used to build her childhood home - would also be used to honour another wonderful man's life's work. It now lives on, embedded in epoxy resin, along with the paint from her home. 🤗
Can't stop once I start! I was feeling sleepy at around 9 pm tonight and got up from the couch to hit the bed. "let me peek in my studio" I thought as I walked towards the stairs. A little voice just took me inside the studio and now it is past 1 am when I proudly post my 'in-the-making' resin samples. Yes I am crazy! Hope these stay this way in the morning.
Here’s another itty bitty pour painting! This one has already been sold but with my Uni break coming up next week, I’ll be available for commissions. If you or a friend would like a painting like this or anything else, please contact me and we can sort something out. (These little canvases come with their own little easels) ❤️🔮
Life is finally back to normal in our house! Hurricane Irma threw us for a loop, but we are all okay, and school started back up today (yay!) which means this mama can get back to work! I miss the feeling of paint on my hands! - Etsy shop is open, and commissions are always welcomed!
