I bought this action figure in 1992. I grew up as a big fanboy of comic books, and X-Men in particular. I still am. Part of the appeal was the obvious superhero story. It was fun to read and the artwork was always so incredible; it sucked me in. Jim Lee, John Byrne, Dave Cockrum, Neal Adams...Jack Kirby! The greats. Their artwork inspired me. But apart from directing me into art school, the takeaway from these books for me and what stuck with me into adulthood was the connection I felt to the characters -- these mutants who were forgotten, disregarded, hated by society -- and how as an awkward, unpopular kid and now an adult who deals with depression, anxiety and a number of trust issues, I continue to relate to these characters. I don't have claws or blue fur or the ability to read minds, but there are days when I understand how it feels to be a pariah. I'm certain I'm not alone in that feeling, but most days all the same feel pretty lonely.
But that's why I keep Wolverine around. He reminds me that I'm not the only outsider or the only one with issues. Not the only pariah. We're all hiding our claws. Some days are easier than others and some days I want to give up. But that's not what Wolverine would do, bub.
If you read all of this, thanks.

On my way to my first drum 🥁 recital I saw an orange #vespa and a closer took revealed that it was *my* old #ET4 that I had #custom painted #Lamborghini metal flake orange when I bought it back in grad school in Wisconsin. @katemaxx and I stopped to check it out and the current owner walked up asking "hey, you like my Vespa?" So cute!
She was very happy to learn the history of this unique ride, and I was so stoked to her again and in such good hands. Way to go Kristy - the color is "Arancio Atlas" btw.
What a magical coincidence. #ArtSchool has been good to me. @vespa_official @vespa_americas #scooter
Here's Alex from Oxenfree by @nightschoolstudio . She's the first in a new fan art series I'm working on where I'll be drawing characters from my favorite video games. This game was well written, highly atmospheric, and I loved the characters. Vibe-wise, to me, it felt like a combo of Stranger Things and Coraline. ⛰📻🔦👻Have you guys played it?
