A little Austrian culture lesson before Krampus day tomorrow😄
As a kid we all had respect of Krampus.
Krampus is the companion of Nikolaus (he looks similar to Santa but is originating from a Christian saint Nikolaos of Myra). While Nikolaus brings presents on the 6th of Dec. for good children, Krampus is the one who takes the bad children away in his sack from their parents or brings them a sack of coal instead of treats.
So as a kid on Dec 5th specially when it was dark outside I was afraid to be close to the entrance door of the house and hear somebody knock at the door. I think I would have been afraid of this dressed up Nikolaus too, as some parents want somebody to be dressed up as him and come home and visit the kids and ask them if they were good this year. Then they say a poem or sing a song etc and he will give them a bag of mostly clementines, peanuts and chocolate.
I wish i could fly... When i was a kid i wanted to be a butterfly because it flies and it's colourful but then I learned it has a short life... So then i wanted to become a bird so i can fly high and life long.... Kids have weird imaginations and thoughts so did I. What did you want to be as a kid?
