A flower opens to the sun and allows itself to be given everything it needs. Allow your conciousness to open like a lotus flower with every inhalation until, at last, it is completely open to receive the light of the universal knowledge. We have to find the vehicle.
The basic yoga poses retain the simplicity and complexity that makes them beautiful like a lotus flower.
You guys. Oh my god. The pose, whatever that shit is called, was so far out of my reach that it wasn't even funny! @yogamand made it look so damn easy that I was truly shocked when I couldn't even come close. 😂😂 I took @kamaste_ 's variation. Day eight of #yogihowdyoudothat2 is Hard-as-FUCK! (I went ahead and renamed that for you. You're welcome.)

"You cannot do yoga. Yoga is your natural state. What you can do are yoga exercises, which reveal to you where you are resisting your natural state." --Sharon Gannon
Who hasn't said at one point or another "aaaaah," when taking a simple twist? Twists are relaxing, rejuvenating, and nourishing to the body and spine. Movement of the spinal joints in all of the anatomical planes (frontal, sagittal, and axial/transverse) is essential for lubricating and moving fluids through the intervertebral discs. Along with hydrating the spinal discs, twists also stretch the back muscles and glutes. Twists are also said to massage the internal organs, and increase the flow of fresh blood to your digestive system. Here I am doing one of my favorite versions, with both legs extended straight, my right leg in line with my spine and my left leg in line with my hips. I like to do a shift of the hips to the opposite side before moving into the twist so that they are stacked once I land in the full twist. I broaden across my upper chest and collar bones, allowing my shoulders to become heavy and rest on the ground.

I've been noticing a lot lately that people or companies that I follow on IG have been having to defend themselves or others against negativity. It boggles my mind when I see a mean comment because I just don't get it - who would choose to say something hurtful when you could choose NOT to? When you could choose love, friendliness, and compassion? I don't think lot of people understand the impact of their words - a negative comment doesn't just disappear into the bowels of the internet after you type it. You may get to move on with your life but your comment will likely stay with the person who reads it for the rest of their life, nagging at the back of their mind and guiding the undercurrent of their thoughts and actions. Meanwhile, a smile or a kind word only takes a second and can turn someone's world around! I will always choose to be loving and to stand up against this type of behaviour because I believe that no one deserves to feel unhappiness at the hands of another. We are all beautiful, amazing human beings in our own right. If we all took a moment to pause before we spoke or typed to consider whether what we are saying is of positive benefit (ex. offering constructive criticism vs being a jerk or just keeping your judgements to yourself), the world would be a better place. 💕💕 This is an old pic (pre-flipped grip) but I love how it turned out and it reminds me of a lovely holiday
To preserve something is to delay the act indefinitely. I wish I could put up yesterday's evening sky for all posterity, preserve a night of love, the sound of a mountain stream, a realization as it sets my mind afire, a dance, a day of harmony 🎼, thousands of days of clouds that will never be seen again, line them up with jars where they may be admired in the future to taste again. These things arise and they perish. Though there will always be more clouds and more days, photographs preserve little of this. And I've kept thousands of photos. But there's no going back.
Did some adulting today ie. getting school books for this semester, went grocery shopping, and cleaned the house a bit. But I also managed to get some play time in and get a new piercing or two 😝

"She was fierce, she was strong.
She wasn’t simple.
She was crazy and sometimes she barely slept.
She always had something to say.
She had flaws and that was okay. And When she was down,
she got right back up.
she was a beast in her own way,
but one idea described her best.
She was unstoppable and she took anything she wanted with a smile." thanks @rmdrk for always making feel like a goddess 💛 .

After a super fun visit last night with my bestie to @omonlocke for a healthy eating seminar hosted by @pickydietwellness I got to thinking about how much yoga relates to business. This inspired today's newest blog post "How downward facing dog can help you double-down on your professional life". Check out the lessons my practice has brought to my business life on the blog! Today's Day 10 of #HippySummerYoga turned out a real challenge with hectic morning and me having woken up 7 o'clock a.m., making pancakes for breakfast (photo and nutrients are coming tomorrow) and then spending 2-3 hours on foot doing some travelling arrangements, since my husband has gone back to Dubai today for work. So i went with him to airport and then travelled back home (check out my stories) by trains and again walk... So after such a busy day i just allowed myself some relaxation and night yoga flow. And then came #frogpose ... I certainly need to work more on my hip stretch. Because this pose is really tough. Even i did some stretching and bents it didn't make my life in this pose easier. I could try some variation which would be easier for me but i like challenges and try working on weaknesses and what takes more effort. You indeed need some towel under your knees if they're that much sensitive like mine.
P. S. Sorry for quality of the photo, there wasn't enough light
