In the right circumstance, one may exhibit magnificent tendencies that earn admiration and respect. In other situations, their worst tendencies might come to light. Only if we have wrongly identified one set of tendencies as being the entire person can we feel betrayed by the revelation of those other, hidden tendencies.

In one of my recent stories, I posted footage of a woman on the streets of Rio with the most insanely matted hair I have ever seen. Some people thought it was a hat, one lady asked what kind of animal she had on her head ... A few of you rightfully pointed out the fact that I was having a laugh at someone else's expense.. though it may have been light-hearted on my part, many people thought it was uncharacteristic of me.. One person even messaged me, "That's not the Daniel Rama I know.."

Now, I'm not saying I regularly walk the streets making fun of people whose image falls way outside societal norms.. but the experience does highlight an important teaching.

The Dalai Lama said, "Our views of people tend to be highly unrealistic. Our images of them are typically distorted and inaccurate. This often leads to intense pain, as the fixed image and the fluid reality inevitably clash."

In my opinion, this is one of the biggest issues with social media. Even the realist amongst us would seldom share their darkest moments. We see people online, we formulate our own images of how that person acts and operates...

Speaking of myself, I come from an authentic lineage. I spend my mornings in meditation, chanting sacred mantras and working with pranayama. If it's not too bold to say, I am a well-rounded, very dedicated practitioner ... but I'm also human, and in no way perfect!

This past weekend I spent some time traveling the fire damage in Northern California. I was born and raised in the 707 and at times it hit me like a ton of bricks. It was very surreal to see the extent of the destruction caused. Especially in the neighborhoods that were affected. Seeing over 4000 homes completely leveled, with the rubble consisting of cars and fireplaces still standing, immediately gave me knots in my stomach. Something truly amazing happened when I was exploring the damage to the Forrest. First with my grandfather, as we drove up to the epicenter of one of the first of the series of the fires to strike the mountainside was laden in green with a vast amount of new green growth. In fact many places it was extremely hard to notice a fire had taken place. Out in the untouched nature there were many trees completely fine and already in the process of bouncing back. This gave me faith and I began to see mother earths healing powers. The second trip was with my father again seeing the mountain side that was completely engulfed in flames just a few months ago was covered in green. The only remainders from a far were the burnt trees which had orange leaves but again there was so many trees unaffected. During the drive we talked about how in the 60s there was another fire just like the one that traveled through this area and how believe it or not fires and events like this give nutrients to the soil. What I am trying to say is that with destruction comes a rebirth and Mother Earth is reminding us how to heal. Driving back home to slo I kept seeing stories of the amount of smoke in the air from the Ventura county fires and again I was feeling a bit uneasy and nervous.  As horrific as the damage was it is also so very important to take the lesson from mother Gaia. We can heal. Material damage is just that. This photo is taken were flames reached upwards of 60ft but look at all the new growth! Sending so much affect by any of these events. Stay strong, we are all in this together and with faith we will prevail.

“Master technique & then forget about it and let it be natural “ Pavalova 🕺🏼❤️🙏Straddle Press - I know so many people want to do this press, for me I find it easy ☺️ BUT a lot of that has to do with my ability to get my centre of gravity so far forward that im not having to press so hard but rather my feet want to float off the floor and I just control the press. To do this I have to turn my wrist out laterally so to allow for more wrist extension. My centre of gravity is high, at my chest 💪  so it makes presses like this easier to say someone who’s centre of gravity was more at their hips? I’m pressing less lever weight (get it?) In any case starting with feet on blocks or one leg at a time dog kicked or use a wall for one leg to press on as u raise the other is great ways to practice 🙌 core on,  engage the whole back line and I focus on the anterior deltoid (shoulders) and lower back really working hard. Once the legs are off the ground send your feet out wide so u don’t increase the lever load u have to lift. Leg flexibility will challenge this etc.  Give it a go, keep arms straight, it’s mostly technique not brute strength. Usually when I work with someone who is starting to get close we nail it in 5min as it’s just their technique and belief we work on rather than more muscle. Protect your wrists, only concern. Enjoy & fly high baby, real high 🙌🧘‍♂️❤️🙏 #straddlepress #handstand

Alright yoga anatomy nerds, this one is for you.
As a big weight-bearing structure the hip joint is built for stability over mobility. Large tight muscles and even the actual joint shape can stiffen it further and make them unwilling, or even unsafe to force over and over again. You can't fake it when you have tight hips - hence the Shakira reference💃🙊. And if you try other parts have to compensate: your pelvis, back, knees can all cop heavy load from trying to force against tight hips. 😟  As robust as it is even the hip joint itself is at risk from repetitive compression directions - specifically combinations of flexion, adduction and internal rotation = triple whammy of compression (Google them if keen, or think of a poorly leveled revolved pyramid pose). Here in trikonasana I'm working hard in the external rotators on the front hip to stop it rolling in, and (glute medius) abduction on the back hip. Plus I'm active in pressing my front heel down (glute max) to lift my right side body long (QL and obliques) and get out of the joint compression. If you don't know your anatomy... get around it or learn from teachers that really do. #powerliving and @yogidunx all the way. 
My advice is go slow. Learn how to align your hips to avoid triple whammies, switch on the right muscles to support, and practice patience as the big muscles open slowly - the 70year old version of you will thank you for it! 💪👍 Ps. Hips week at @power.living.adelaide this week. 📷 @leeroy.t  #manly

Day 12 #ACROVINYASA challenge... part 2 
Maybe it’s technically not day 12 when this photo is from a few days back, but we stayed true to the stage of our practice this morning and apparently we weren’t doing this pose today. It was a good lesson for us to not become attached to “not achieving” the pose and being completely content with our practice exactly as it was this morn...which didn’t look anything like this 😂 love learning through the practice with this legend 💖

Una chiave di lettura non semplice, in quanto la sua conformazione fisica iniziale è il connubio tra la forma Ipolipotica e Iperlipolitica.
.
Il quantitativo di Cortisolo e di estrongeni in un individuo del genere porta gli addetti ai lavori a dire “è quel caso su 100, per cui oltre a un paio di chili non si riesce a togliere, è genica è ecc ecc...”
.
Lei è semplicemente una tipologia fisica che va trattata con più attenzione, tutto qui.
.
Il livello di incompetenza generale invece è preoccupante. .
Il fatto che lei non abbia mai ottenuto con altri, e invece con me si è per tre motivi:
. ✅Con me viene stimolata mentalmente,
. ✅ Fa le cose perfettamente
. ✅ Esegue un regime nutrizionale ed integrativo bilanciato  solo ed esclusivamente sulle sue esigenze.

Ma dopo 45 giorni, abbiamo una persona che sta già CAMBIANDO radicalmente.
.
Abbiamo una persona che passa da uno stato di Obesità di medio grado,
A sovrappeso {Bmi 25- 30 [26,6]}, a solo 1.7 punti BMI dal Normopeso.
.
Elisa oggi ha vinto, sta vincendo e vincerà ancora tanto con tutte le soddisfazioni e miglioramenti del caso.

V tuhle chvili bohuzel nemuzu sledovat Instastories, protoze mam telefon v oprave a stary mi umoznuje jenom zakladni verzi Instagramu. Tim mi bohuzel unikne trochu motivace, ale nenecham si zkazit naladu a vyzvu kvuli tomu rozhodne nevzdam. Krasny den vsem ♡!

Christmas decorations, cookies...and a tunel? I probably hope to find the Christmas light at its end. I choosed the #wheelpose as the full body stretcher today. I can't follow Instastories at the moment as I need to use an old phone until my phone gets fixed, which will surely make me miss some of the motivation, however I will not get frustrated about it and above at all, I won't give up my participation in the #challenge.

▪️Я понимаю, почему большинство людей выбирают работу с телом: она проста и понятна. Но путь Йогина - это путь Воина, который борется с демонами ума. А тело - лишь инструмент.
▪️Поэтому если вы работаете только с телом, то это, на мой взгляд, оздоровительная физкультура. А если с умом, то это Йога!

Не оставляя мысль, сесть на все шпагаты мира, и освоить пока  непостижимые асаны, все-таки отдаю предпочтение  более плавной и медленной практике. We’ve entered the month to reflect. This last year so much have happened but it doesn’t feel that way and i think it’s because the things i wanted to happen the most didn’t. I’ve frozen, procrastinated, i’ve felt unworthy, unable.. but then, not so long ago i came to a slightly deeper understanding of why and you know how to change something, first you have to be able to see it.
So i’m gonna do my best to work with this now. There will most likely be tears and alot of fear surfacing but i know i can do it, because deep down underneeth, i know that I AM enough and i’m worthy of living my dreams. Even the bigger ones. Who’s with me? Let’s make 2018 unforgettable💪🏽❤️

Handstand Tuck Drills : So damn hard for me, man! Feather feet - doesn’t look like it 😂 anyway just one of those things that I’m sure will come easier with some practice.... it’s the hols and have been going out in the afternoons with the kiddos and not having enough time with my beauty sleep 😜😜 but it’s nice to we the kids more often in the afternoons cos they are usually at tuition or school during the normal months.
