Sometimes you just feel for the classic poses. It’s not always about doing the most advanced postures, sequences, transitions, etc. all the time. In fact, that type of obsession, always trying to out-perform yourself, do better, make consistent progress, can actually become a movement away from what yoga is trying to cultivate.
Peace, bliss, easiness of mind, abiding in oneself with little or no effort, being with “what is” moment by moment - those kind of subjective qualities in experience could be said to be signs of “progress” on the spiritual path. But, those qualities typically don’t look like anything impressive and may not even appear to be “spiritual” to the untrained eye.
Likewise, someone who acts peaceful all the time might be totally unrealized, just pretending, trying to mold their self into something that is desirable or morally and ethically correct - trying to turn oneself into an object. Whereas, the dedicated spiritual aspirant is constantly moving away from that small area in consciousness, away from object hood, and toward an excruciating kind of devotion, adoration, and reverence for that which is uncreated, un-manifest, absolute.
The true spiritual aspirant, who is mad with devotion, would never ascribe any particular quality to that Absolute Being. He or she would not dare to impose that there are any conditions attached to that. No morals, no ethics, no “right action,” just Being Itself. It’s absurd to think that because one behaves a certain way - apparently displaying peaceful detachment or absorption in the Self - that that person is realized.
Active discrimination is so important to proceed free and clear on the spiritual path, ensuring that one does not get “tied down” anywhere that is limited or partial. Set your sights on the highest and that’s where you will go.

I’ve been feeling so grateful for everything in my life 🙌🏻 this week has been a whirlwind. even though I was exhausted, stressed, overwhelmed and felt the pressures of life, I was able to stay grounded and flip it all upside down because I’m alive, breathing, and experiencing life ✨ how beautiful each and every moment is 🙏🏻💯
It's not easy to find balance in these strong winds. Thats what I love about taking my yoga practice into everyday life. Learning as you would on the mat, how to stay balanced, even when faced with such howling winds to knock us down, off the mat. To always remain focused, with patience and full body/mind awareness. 🙏🏼

Much more awareness, mindfulness, and core strength involved. I got this :-)
Was supposed to be heading to Auckland this weekend catching up with my amazing gal pals, instead I had a brain fart and booked my tickets leaving from Auckland to Blenheim and not the other way around.😣. Silver lining my sister is using them and is coming for a night to hang with me and my mumna bear. Squeezing in a teaching session at the @wellnessstationnz in the morning so come start the long weekend right with me 👌💖
Life. It's ever moving.
But we hold on, and it kills us.
It teaches you that flow IS life.
And life, well, it's stretching.
It's heart ache.
The solution to all suffering begins at breathing.
It changes the compounds of pain.
And just sitting.
So you can remember that we have to loosen the grips on life to allow it to take us where we want to go.
So - it is also movement.
Too little or too much of anything is never any good.
So it's balance too.
You can never truly feel loved unless you know yourself in the dark corners and love yourself there.
As such, it's self inquiry.
We must learn to listen and speak from truth and love, always.
So, it's communing.
There isn't anything that is happening, has happened or will happen that won't bring you closer to what's truly important . It's everything.
And at the end of the day, we realise that what's important is nothing we don't have inside. It's nothing.
And all we have inside is waiting for you to pause and take a look.
