As you squat, the bar needs to remain over your midfoot, which is where your centre of gravity sits. Pressing through the centre of your foot is the most stable and optimum position for you to efficiently apply force through the ground.
Maximum force input into the ground = max force output under the barbell (think Newtons 3rd law of motion: every force has an equal and opposite reaction). Happy Squatting ❤️ the SMA Team
