Deadlift PR...I'M SO FUCKING PUMPED 210x8x2!!! After losing 75 pounds in the past 11 months I've definitely lost some strength, but I've been working super hard to get my deadlifts up since they're my favorite lift and today I did!!

All of the good stuff that we want starts with doing the things.
We don’t get what we want by hoping and wishing and dreaming about it. Although imagination is the gateway to experience, you have to walk through the door. You have to show up.
There’s a lot of fluff in the world of *making your dreams become your reality.* The fluffy part is that it’s possible. But we all know that it’s possible... that’s why we have the dreams.
What we need is a roadmap on how to get there. What we need is direction on how to find the door, how to open it, how to walk in, and what to do once we’re inside. This is the work.
The work is not “figuring out what you want”… this happens through the process of limitless willpower and determination. You cannot figure out what you want to do by sitting still and thinking about things that you like. It just won’t happen. Like my mother said, “You figure out what you want to do, by doing things that you don’t want to do.”
This is the nature of Shakti, the true power of manifestation. It exists in the action and the persistent practice of doing the things that we don’t want to do.
We do the things we don’t want to do, and we start moving the Shakti - our creative power. The Shakti starts pumping, and as its circulating, its informing us. But we have to move it first. So in this question of, “how do I get what I want?” there’s a simple answer: You do the things you don’t want to do. And you keep doing them, and it will lead you to where you want.
We become more of who we are by understanding, and embodying and embracing who we are not. Shakti is really about doing the things that cause resistance.
This is my dad. He’s 78 years young, retired, but busier than the whole family combined. And he’s showing off his #muscles
Two years ago, his doctor told him that he was pre-diabetic... and that he HAD to change his diet if he wanted to stay healthy. He went on the Atkins diet for a few months. And at his next checkup, his blood work showed that things were all fine and well... except my 5’10 dad was 130 pounds and couldn’t gain weight, despite sooo much effort.
The doctor told him he needed to get more protein in his diet, but that he shouldn’t sacrifice nutritional value (I.e. Don’t just drink milkshakes for lunch - which is exactly what he wanted to do lol).
Nothing fit the bill. Who knew that the older you get, the pickier you get when it comes to food (like a child 😂)?! I started regularly drinking my superfoods shakes in August and my dad was curious after hearing how many health benefits I was noticing in myself. He wanted to give it a try.
Now if you’ve ever tried to get an older gentlemen to try something new, you know I’m not exaggerating when I say that it took a few weeks to actually get him to sit down and try it. But if you can’t tell from the picture, he loved it. And he feels good about what’s in it.
This is what it’s all about. 💕
Today's workout was good. Just cardio and abs, but nutrition sucked! I was super busy today with the twins and only ate two meals. Thankfully I didn't have a pretty macro dense breakfast, but I can't be slipping on my protein. Tomorrow will be better!!
