Yeah #Mondays can be tough, but a little espresso and a warm, flakey croissant from @starprovisions will make everything a little more bearable

Today at lunch, my 5 yo 👧, Baylor and her daddy went head to head over something trivial (regular occurrence since they’re both equally stubborn + hard headed). As their standoff reached its pinnacle and she was exhausting all of her evasive maneuvers + close to admitting defeat, hubs looked her straight in the face and declared “You’re going to lose this game...I’m smarter than you.” With no hesitation + a hint of pity she retorted simply “No. You’re not.”
Had I kept my composure enough to even try to stifle my laughter, the water that shout out of my mouth + my nose would’ve betrayed me, so i let out a solid literal LOL. But she didn’t notice as she went on to quiz him with brain busters like “Can you even spell ME? M-E? What’s 100 + 100?! Do you even know?!” 🤷🏻♀️
On the other hand, I was feeling pretty superior myself after enjoying my fave at @pure_taqueria_ (and not getting schooled by a 5 yo - at least not today), the Cazuela with no zucchini (I like zucchini but only if it’s crispy and added in at the very end, so I opt out if I’m not at home). Link to the menu (its under Pure Classics) in my profile. And full disclosure: chips + salsa + cheese dip were consumed in abundance!
If New American cuisine, dim sum, a seasonal basket from your local CSA, and Alice Cooper had some kind of crazy ménage à quatre, the result would be Gunshow. My husband and I went there for the first time last night, and it was a rather different and bloody incredible dining experience. The chefs themselves bring around the food they have prepared and present it to you, and you can either say "yes" to accept the dish or "pass." If you take the dish, the chef will mark it on your menu, and if you pass, you will never see that dish again. So you have to think quick, and it's best to familiarize yourself with the (ever-changing) menu beforehand so you can have somewhat of a game plan on what dishes you definitely want to eat.
The dishes themselves range in size from tapas-ish to wee entrees. Our waiter told us that a couple will usually eat about 10 dishes. We had 9, and I'll admit that that was probably a bit much for us. (You know I'm full when we try a restaurant for the first time and my husband & I share one dessert instead of two 😝)
The chefs themselves were friendly and super accommodating. When I made the reservation, I let the restaurant know that I'm vegetarian, which upon our arrival they wrote in giant letters on the menu. So when a chef would come around with a dish that could be tweaked to become veg-friendly, as soon as they saw VEGETARIAN, they would describe how they could revise the dish so that I could try it. That always led to me saying, "Ooh, yay! Yes please!" 🎉
One thing that I found amazingly considerate is that when a chef would bring us a now-veg-friendly dish, instead of marking the meat version on the menu, they marked the squash salad so that we didn't have to unnecessarily pay a higher price when I wasn't eating (in this case) the oxtail or the sausage. WHAAA..! Restaurants never do that! 🙀 I couldn't believe it, and I was so pleasantly surprised. So, @chefkevingillespie, @chefjoeyward, or whoever else on the @gunshowatl team that came up with that policy: from my quinoa & broccoli loving heart, thank you! 💕
Food photos forthcoming! This caption is already at the limit & I have to tell y'all more about the deliciousness 🙈
I have been obsessed with homemade fried rice since my uncle made large pots of it in my youth. I have had a pound of lump crab meat in my freezer haunting me ... Until yesterday. I made Crab Quesadillas last night but still had lots of crab meat left over. So why not make crab fried rice. This is the result. Mixed veggies, egg, lump crab meat, jasmine rice and a lil soy sauce. It was delish of course. Lunch will be spectacular tomorrow. #atlfoodie#agirlsgottaeat#atlfoodie#foodblogger#foodphotos#homecook#foodporn#cookingmyfeelings
Smooth dark chocolate and coconut flakes are a winning combination in this rich, bold bark. This simple, not too sweet holiday treat can be made ahead of time and requires no oven. Music to my ears… Dark chocolate chunks + coconut flakes + cacao powder + cacao nibs + puffed millet + quinoa flakes + honey + vanilla bean paste = crispy, salty, sweet decadent holiday treat. #holidaytreats#chocolatelover#chocolatecoconut#easydessert
I’m loving all the Friendsgiving & holiday parties going on right now in the ATL 🦃 🎄
Since I’m always out to eat for ATL Adventurer, I have NO time to bake or prep for parties, and @sprouts has been my go-to for the cutest holiday treats 🍰
I got everything pictured here at Sprouts, including these adorable ugly sweater cookies - they come pre-made with ingredients for decorating so it’s super simple 🎉
Happy Holiday-ing ATL ⛄️🎅

Would ya look at that... I️ actually ordered something relatively healthy at a restaurant. Don’t get used to it! 😏
This is a berry pretty and tasty house made granola. Loved the different textures of the fresh and dried fruit on a bed of honey yogurt. Yum! @joycafeatl continues to step up their game.
We had an incredible date-night dinner @parksidedistrict last night. I have to say they really nailed all the details from the restaurant decor to the flavors and textures in each dish. We started with Raw Blue Point Oysters. Then had the Grilled Romaine Wedge (yes you read that right the lettuce was grilled) with applewood smoke bacon, red onions, cherry tomatoes, and a delicious homemade old bay ranch. I finished with Gulf Shrimp & Smoked Gouda Grits with blistered cherry tomatoes, charred corn, andouille sausage and crispy okra chips. Seriously, you have to try this place if you’re in the Atlanta area. Oh and the drinks - they are amazing and very well crafted.
The @archesbrewing lager's name may be the Unseasonal, but we are in full out fall here in ATL.
Coming to a heavily beer market I have been struggling to bring my pallet up to speed from my standard Coors & Michelob. Micro brews have never been my thing with all the IPA's they love to sling around until I found this gem in Hapeville. Serving up 8 types of beers and one of the few micros to put in the work to produce a genuine lager, I can honestly say I haven't found a beer I dislike. Now that they are serving up (and selling) cans, I have been stocking my fridge to the brim. 🍻
