T is for tigernuts aka Ofio or Aya. No they aren't nuts, they are tubers. Though they have been used locally in Nigeria and other parts of Africa for years, other parts of the World have now discovered the amazing benefits of this superfood. A good source of fiber, magnesium, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, protein and potassium make them ideal for people living a healthy life.
Here at Oh So, tigernuts are used for our mylks and chia puddings. They are also a great dairy substitute for granolas and tea. They are very versatile. Tigernuts can be eaten either raw or dried, used in baking and eaten as ball food with our local stews and vegetables. We are glad that the World has started to celebrate our "open secret" 😊#atozoffood#wellnesswednesday
