This is the most inconsistent part of my day. Every day. Right after I eat breakfast. Even to have this 2 days in a row is inconsistent. A slight rise is normal for me, but from 109-260+? I can’t include extra units for dawn phenom because I may not have it. The only thing that is consistent at this time of day, is if I walk all the way from the parking lot to my desk, this arrow turns right around within 20 minutes. So I guess that’s a small win! 🤔🙃. Anyone else have such a struggle with inconsistent dawn effect?
Sometimes there is nothing more motivating than falling off the wagon a little bit. This past week, my family and I were on holiday. I thought I was organised, I even went to the grocery store when I arrived to buy things that I can eat. ⠀
However I found there are lots of little tricky situations that I didn’t account for. Like the airport lounge, there is literally nothing I could eat. Or when I went for for dinner to a healthy vegan restaurant (after picking it because I thought it would be safe), I ordered a dish that I thought would be perfect and then it came out with rice noodles and a chilli sauce 🌶🤯 The result of these little hiccups were flare ups of my MS. While they were temporary, they were super frustrating!⠀
As I sit here on our flight home, reflecting on our time away. I’ve decided that rather than be frustrated by these flare ups interrupting our activities, I will simply reflect and learn. I think that because I am feeling so much better lately, I’ve been letting things slip a little here and there. Like oh that one potato isn’t going to hurt. It really does and it’s not worth it! I think this whole experience has just confirmed to me that everything I have been doing is WORKING! ⠀
My number one priority heading home is to get fully and completely back on track. First order of business will be a fresh batch of bone broth and to let my body recover 🥘
3 years!!! Can not believe it! It got so much worse but it has now got so much better. This was the most terrifying day of my life to date, getting officially diagnosed and finding out what lay ahead and imminently. The support has been absolutely amazing, support I could never repay but support I will never forget and never ever stop appreciating. Scleroderma can kiss my ass. #scleroderma#autoimmune#fightit#dontletitbeatyou#riseabove#soldieron
Amidst the recent changes with my body and health, some new limitations have developed. I had to cancel my much anticipated trip to Spain, because the venue where I was going to be staying wouldn’t be able to accommodate my nutritional needs. In fact, I might go so far as to say that many, if not most yoga-related trips, retreats, and trainings are no longer on the menu for me. As soon as I got done being angry(justified), sad(justified), and annoyed(justified), I remembered that what you want, you create. And so I did. So much gratitude for all of my very sweet, steady, and supportive friends, who helped pave the way while I stumbled through planning my first yoga retreat. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to this new year, new body, and new perspective. I’m so lucky to have so many incredible forces of life and light to walk this path with. You all inspire the hell outta me with your patience, openness, and absolute bravery.❤️
I downloaded a free app called Pacer 🏃♀️it counts your steps and calories and also lets you set health and fitness goals, all while being part of a supportive online community 😊 it's working well for me so I wanted to share 😁
Much love and gratitude 🙏

EAT PINEAPPLE 🍍🍍🍍
Feeling the cold this Winter? 🤧
Pineapple is 500% more effective than cough syrup. They contain Bromelain which has anti-inflammatory factors which can combat infections and eradicate bacteria!👊
Day 23 2018 (lets just forget about me not posting yesterday because I fell asleep as I was typing out the caption 😂 🙈 #fatigue ): anyways, I FINALLY did it. I made a YouTube video!!!! (That probably no one will even watch 😂) Head over to the link in my bio to watch me answer 30 get to know me questions weeeeee! P.s. I laugh at my own jokes/self a lot and I’m not even sorry. P.p.s. bonus points to the person who counts how many times I say ‘like’ 🙃 #amateur#imsoboganithurts
DROOLING!!! Who else is salivating over @feelgoodfoodie.au’s CAULIFLOWER HERB FLATBREAD? 🤤🙋♀️ It can also be modified for paleo or even vegan! I cannot wait to try this recipe for ASAP ✨✨.⠀
#Repost @feelgoodfoodie.au ⠀
My favourite thing about starting my blog is discovering new ways to enjoy food. Reaching my 40s I’ve had to put behind me pizza and pasta nights and focus on more healthier alternatives to enjoy such meals and this CAULIFLOWER HERB FLAT BREAD is one of them. I’ve seen on instagram so many times cauliflower crust pizza that it dawned on me why not make cauliflower bread sticks? To tell you the truth I’m a little proud of myself with this one. Of course I know others have created similar recipes but this has been altered to be vegan friendly as well by using @orgran_healthandnutrition Vegan Eggs and @mylifebio grated cheese. ⠀
Now, I’d like to remind all that eating choices are a lifestyle, necessity or health choice. I am tired of seeing people judging others because they enjoy a steak or refuse to eat a steak. Again, lets be respectful of the choices we all make.⠀
I hope you give this a try! You can serve it with a tomato chutney or on its own. I was very fortunate to be sent a bottle of @redduckfoods Curry Ketchup to try from @purenaturalsandorganics (which is the sauce in the photograph) and all I can say is OMG. Put it this way, my daughter licked the bowl afterwards which was the funniest thing to see! The recipe is on the blog and both paleo and vegan options are available. The link is on my bio and press on the floating heart for automatic free recipes to your inbox! Enjoy x #feelgoodfoodie ⠀
You can easily heal the physical body from injury. Healing the emotional body is a bit more of a challenge. Especially so when your emotional body can negatively - or positively - affect your physical body. I found Reiki healing when I was trying to conceive our first child. The level of emotional healing I experienced was incredible as I was still healing from my Dad’s sudden passing several years earlier.
As a Reiki practitioner, I love seeing that similar healing in the clients who have come to me since I started practicing. If you have something in your life that needs healing, contact me for rates and availability.
Don't be alarmed. This picture isn't NOW. It's from 19 days ago. When I was hospitalized Jan 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. I debated posting it because, well it's not pretty. And people like pretty things. But I don't care how I look in this picture. It was one day. This doesn't represent ALL of my days. I'd been throwing up bile for hours and slowly DKA was trying to set in. I'm going to keep posting pieces of my story. I'm going to be real and authentic with you. My IG will help you and me at the same time-hopefully. Take what you want...take what's helpful for you from my story and leave the rest. It's funny because lately I feel that I am more judged by people that know me than I am by the passers by. And when everyone thinks they know how I'm feeling physically and mentally (when they are guessing and making assumptions about me) sometimes it makes me want to crawl into a cave. Now that I put myself out there like this everyone close to me has something to say and often they are so wrong. I am so vocal and honest I thought I could paint a good picture of all of this but lately I'm wondering if I'm not accurately articulating it. People hear what they want I suppose. And while I've pondered this I then let it go right out the window. I'm going to come from the heart. If you misinterpret it, if you judge, or if you assume that's on YOU-not me.
Today I went to the hospital to discuss how I was treated while I was there at the beginning of the month. I was told no one was available to talk to me at the moment. Then I was given a woman's name and number to call. I called and I haven't heard back yet. This is for me, for the diabetics, celiacs, ckd patients and anyone else that has gone to the same hospital and been treated in such an absurd way. This is for us ALL. To be continued....
Picture is me put in the hall way-iv fluids, zofran, pain meds. About 30 something hours before actually getting a bed. Just shuffled all around and often not even checked on. Not pictured- the girl behind me with the flu-who when she came in she looked like death. .
For those of you reading this without an autoimmune disease, try not to ask your friends "How is the pain?" Ask them "How was your day?" We are not our disease. We're almost definitely in some degree of pain that we are pushing through. We will go on. We are strong.
Proudly brought to you from my happy place, the pool. -----------------------------------------------

Life is always easier when I have a framework of planning and prep! ⭐️
The key there is framework... where’s the magic if every moment is expected? But equally without a solid foundation where’s the base to layer that magic on to? ⭐️
Every day I have a plan in place for most meals, (often prepped already) and I know the major things that need completed in my diary. That let’s me weave in walks with Bertie, time to connect with people, train, visit horses, just listen to a good tune!! And at the same time stay on track, achieve in my business, meditate, create true wellness and thrive. ⭐️
Your life is here for you to design. Is it your masterpiece yet? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #designyourlife#dontbedefined#magicispossible
Remember that time you wanted something soooooo bad, you would practically run over broken glass to get it? 🏃♀️
A job? A love?..... Chocolate? Haha
That’s how we need to see our health.👀 That we’ll do whatever it takes to achieve great health - Even if it’s hard. 💪
Everyone will get to their goal differently. But the first step is to want it!! 👉Picture it. 👉Crave it. 👉Get it!! 🤗❤️🤗❤️ #healthgoals
Last evening, I spoke with a lady in Austin, Texas over the phone. She's Indian and has just been diagnosed of the same cancer I had. We discussed questions to ask the surgeon and I talked a lot about my journey. Probably more than required. Made me realize that I haven't processed a lot of it yet.
Last year this time, I was awaiting my Radioactive iodine treatment. My surgical wound in the neck, was tender and I would sleep all day from sheer exhuastion and pain in my limbs. But I remember how light my heart felt. For the first time in years I was being gentle with myself. My list of accomplishments for the day would be - brushed my teeth, had a shower, ate food. My ego was completely at rest. No where to go. Nothing to prove.
It's time to remind myself today to find that lightness again.

Another nourish bowl for my lunch today 😍 Eating healthy dosnt need to be hard or complicated, and it dosnt need to take a long time to prepare. A really good tip for those that are time poor is to batch cook- my partner and i do this all the time and it ensures that we always have something healthy thats ready to eat in the fridge. We usually have chicken, brown rice, eggs, overnight oats as some basics already made, and then all we do is make our veggies fresh for each meal. I also like to have bone broth and soups in the freezer. My partner will also make his meals for the day each morning which only takes about 30 minutes or so. There are definitely other foods you can have already prepared, this is just to give you an example.
Whats in my nourish bowl 🥕
➡Roasted sweet potato ➡Roasted broccoli ➡Egg ➡ Brown rice ➡Spinach
This meal took about 30 minutes to make as roasting vegetables takes a little longer, but its definitely worth it- has anyone tried roast broccoli? Its delicious 😋
After high school, just like most people, I slowly added on the pounds. Soon I was at least 20 pounds over my “happy weight.” It wasn’t until the birth of my second son did I realize how much inflammation my body was suffering from.
Thanks to needing to remove gluten, dairy, and corn from my diet, I was able to drop all my baby weight plus an extra 25 pounds of inflammation-induced weight. My skin also cleared up and I noticed my moods were more stable. .
What freedoms will you experience when you reduce your inflammation?
Instead of diving back into a 8-10 hour work day like I usually do after a trip, I’m making it a point to get back into a work flow gently. Today I worked for a few hours but made it a point to make time for meal prepping, plant tending, and getting my week set up. Tomorrow I’m heading to Dallas for a meeting an a massage, maybe I’m getting closer to that thing called ‘balance’ 😌
So here is my Trader Joe’s haul from yesterday as promised!! I’ll try and post pictures of the meals i create with these ingredients as the week goes on. I’m all about simple + quick + healthy meals. .
Most of the frozen fruit is used in smoothies...The greens are used in meals + salads. Two packages of drumsticks, organic ground beef, some chicken sausage, free range eggs, nuts to use in oatmeal and hummus to eat with carrots. .
This hummus is particularly my favorite because it has clean ingredients! If you have an autoimmune beware of the nightshade vegetable (eggplant). I’ve noticed that it doesn’t have an effect on me so I buy it on occasion! Not pictured but stopped by Whole Foods to buy some almond milk 😋
🌿celery juice benefits 🌿
•rebuilds the gut by giving hydrochloric acid •clear the skin •reduce pathogens •delivers vital mineral salts to nervous and adrenal system
•thyroid health •best on an empty stomach In the morning for full digestive benefits
You can blend it in a blender and strain in a cheese cloth 🤛🏻 Day 1 is done ✅
Hubby started keto today! We basically hit the ground running with little sleep because his 2nd class of the semester started today so we had to get up and go a lot earlier than we normally would. Started off good had some bulletproof coffee, then after class had some sausage and eggs. The plan was to come home and finish up the little bit of math homework he had left and then go grocery shopping, well it took a lot longer than anticipated, he wasn’t feeling good and I wasn’t feeling good due to a headache and cramps so we opted for bunless baconators for dinner instead of the crack slaw I was originally planning on making. I did however still go grocery shopping so we are still good to go just improvised slightly tonight. Good news is this go round I’m not hearing “I’m starvingggggggg!” Every hour lol but I’m assuming that will come tomorrow when he’s at work but we are prepared for snackage! #keto#ketoaf#ketosis#ketoweightloss#hubbyonketo#rheumatoiddisease#rheumatoiddiseasesucks#rheumatoidarthritis#rawarrior#autoimmune#baconator
One of my friends just got diagnosed with MS, she is posting and sharing her sorrow as she tries to wrap her brain around it. It takes me back to the place I was at, it has taken a lot of forgiving and just letting go to be able to move forward and heal emotionally. I can't dwell on the past or our future, just the task at hand. Continuing to do my best even when that means I fall short sometimes. Here's to letting go to be open to change and growth.
NO TIME used to be my excuse for not starting a workout program. The honest truth is that I was scared of FAILING at it. Of starting and not finishing. .
Have you ever felt that way?
But when I can bust out a 30 or 40 min workout by simply clicking play in my Netflix of fitness ... weights and resistance bands in my home office... and finish feeling strong, full of purpose, and out of breath ---- time is no longer a valid excuse. 👌💪and the momentum of pressing play every day because there's no excuse of time completely dissentigrates the LIE that I can't finish and succeed!! .
It also doesn't hurt that I have a whole team of people waiting for me to tell them I did my workout today! Lol. #accountabilityrocks
Be stronger than your excuses. And prove your fears wrong every day. 😉
