Courage comes in many forms to me. Often it is to push outside my comfort zone and doing something challenging, sometimes it is letting go of something that doesn't serve me - either way it takes courage to step into the unknown. Courage takes faith. Courage is to lay down your fears and do it anyway!

I promise you, you will never not hear me in a yoga class. I BREATHE. Without the breath, it’s just funky gymnastics. This is what seperates my practice and my workouts. But I still bring my breath to my workouts...win win 🤷🏽♂️ #doYOURyoga
I have nothing to add to Insta right now because I'm buried in editing and suffering from a real "what do I share" conundrum, so here's a snap of me doing a backbend at Chinati, my usual tourist MO. 📷 thanks @cameracait
This pose is a big back bend, strengthening the legs and the arms and abdomen and spine.
Contraindications are plenty for this pose, headaches, heart problems, any back issue, high or low blood pressure. So go slowly and carefully. There are some great breathing techniques to help get into and stay in this pose. Use the breath.

Once upon a time, to me, COURAGE was blind strength to persist and charge forward - like a horse with blinders running for gold.
Today, COURAGE is gentle. COURAGE is gracious. It represents a gift, an opportunity from God, to act fearfully but faithfully. It’s an “it’s OK to fail because you can’t really fail if you’re learning”. It’s a stark contrast to my old perspective. It has given me such freedom, that I find even physically liberating through my yoga practice. I’ve noticed so much more ease in my chest opening poses and less tightness in my shoulders and neck. Because COURAGE is not longer the “running for gold”. It’s the gentle and gracious act of faith. #newlife ⠀

Do you ever stop to observe what you’re unconsciously holding onto? The practice of yoga teaches us mindfulness, and to become more conscious of what’s going on in the mind and body which ultimately influences what’s happening with the spirit. If the mind and body are still holding onto things that are restrictive or negative, how can we fully let go and be free? Learning to let go is an idea that needs conscious work throughout the day.
Where are you holding onto tension?
Where do I feel restricted?
Where can I open up more?
Am I overthinking a situation?
Am I allowing others energy to effect mine in a negative way? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
If we want to let our spirits free, we must first free the mind and body of negative unconscious programming. 🙏🏽💜 .

Hello yogis, I hope you had a nice Monday 💗. I passed my afternoon to the dentist so I'm not super happy with this week's start 😅. But as soon as I came back home I jumped on my mat 💪.
So whatever your Monday has been, let's start with our practice! 🙌 Today is "all about wheel" in our journey to Kapotasana! If you don't have a wheel consider to buy yourself one, my backbend practice is deeply improved after I had my @sangrowheel .
Again I remember you to activatw your mula bandha to avoid any long terms injuries at your back. So suck your belly in and squeeze your perineum up.
👉 1) Just chill on your wheel. Roll back and forward trying to feel all your spine rounded on the wheel.
👉 2) Sit in a comfortable position with your wheel behind your back. I always chose hero pose, but you can also cross your legs. What's important here is stay with your hips on the ground and try to stay stick to the surface of the wheel with all your back. Bring a block, squeeze it between your hands and thinking about your chest up and backwards bring it over your head. Stay here 5 deep breaths.
👉 3) Repeat point 2) but this time use a weight. I was inspired to practice like this by @golden.pothos.yoga 😍🙏. This can be super tough so when you come back do it very slowly!
👉 4) A very creative and effective way to stretch your quads and hip flexors with a wheel is roll on it until you touch the floor with your shoulders. Keep your wheel against your back and search for one foot with bith your handa passing through the hole of the wheel. Keep the other one bent to intensify the stretch. Super credit to @sarahuactive for this one! 😍🙏
👉 5) Finally there is no better prop than a wheel to stretch your triceps! Bring your hands over your head than grab the wheel. The more you go lower with your hands the more you feel the stretch. From here try to think about your hips down, to work even on your backbend here.
⚠️ I always recommend you to practice some forward folds after a strong backbend practice!

This comes from the process of pursuing challenging, developmental, self-determined meaningful goals generating energy to be intensely alive allowing for personal expression and the fulfillment and actualization of your inner potentials for life flourishing. .
I'm annoyed at myself for not pointing my toes in my invert and because the try before this I did it perfectly and didn't have the silk slipping off my shoulder, but, I went to aerial tonight feeling a bit shitty and I remembered there's nothing like throwing yourself upside down to make you feel better! #aerial#aerialist#aerialarts#aerialsilks#silks#nutcracker#backbend
