Based on the New York Times "My Favorite Challah" recipe with the following changes: -10 minutes before starting, water brought to boiling and a pinch of saffron is added, then left to steep and cool to lukewarm
-All vegetable oil replaced with olive oil for a slightly more tender texture and fragrant flavor
-One cup of all purpose flour replaced with a cup and a half of barley flour for extra sweetness and aroma
