I was so excited that the awesome construction team helping with our bathroom helped find us this amazing claw foot tub! It has been such a fun project, and an interesting one. When you live in WI in November and do not have a garage-you turn your living room into your workspace. But it makes it even more fun when I get to restore my old tub while watching @rehabaddictaddict . This baby goes in Tuesday and let's say I. Cannot. Wait. 🙏🏽🙌🏽 #clawfoottub#old#bathroomremodel#livingroomworkshop#sawhorses#wisconsin#november
Episode #4 postponed until tomorrow, but in the meantime....All tile and grout completed today. New toilet installed. Monday vanity is being installed and final counter top and backsplash being measured.
Swipe ➡ to see the results! Last week I tiled a small bathroom. The red wedges I'm using between the tiles are a leveling system which prevent adjacent tiles from being higher than each other. This is commonly referred to as lippage, and unfortunately is very common with cheaper installers. You can also see I add mortar to the backs of the tile (backbuttering), this helps ensure the tiles stay down for good. I can't tell you how many times I've seen loose tile in people's homes, and interestingly enough none of them were backbuttered. Obviously all these extra steps take more time, and this is part of the reason a good installation will cost more upfront. But is poor quality work really cheaper if you have to replace it?
