It's official, I'm in love with doing HIIT (especially in grey tops where you get TOTALLY SEE THE HARDCORE SWEAT). In round one I always avoided it because I was like 'holy shit it's so hard and intense' but I've found it's the best game with Sir Fitbit and I always feel so amazing after it! I was feeling pretty crappy about myself this morning - first, I didn't even want to get up to go to the gym. After forcing myself to just get up I felt so bloated 🙁 I know my tummy still has to get better and I'm working on it, but I still get pretty negative when I wake up feeling this way (I'm only human hey)
I did my 15 min HIIT on the treadmill and a 15 min @sarahs_day fat burning workout (you can find it on her YouTube channel)
To be honest, I felt so much better after going to the gym, I know I wasn't there for that long, but that was what my body wanted and needed, and I listened 🙏 I also decided since the gym will be super empty, I'm going to take a selfie 😂 and I have to say - the light in this place is on point 👌 thanks guys 😂 I didn't even know I had those baby abs!
I've really been enjoying these quick workouts and clearly they have been working 🙌🙌

• QUESTION: How did you start?
Some of you may think I've been in the gym for a long time, but nothing is what it seems. Since January, I've been working hard to transform my lifestyle. I've found my way. The balance is there. I followed a 12-week training from Kayla Itsines. This gave me a start to my goals. I also did a lot of running, walking and skating. Now it's finally that time.. time for the real work. I'm going to the gym!! 🙌🏼

Fear... "an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm." Sometimes fear strikes me at the most inopportune times! Like this week, when I tried out Equinox gym for the first time - I walked in all excited and instantly became worried about being the most out of shape, plump person in the gym! It was awful - didn't make for a great workout 😁 As much as I like to sweep these feelings under a rug, it's great to acknowledge them and move on 💪🏻 Happy weekend, friends!! 😘

Blood Orange Sorbet on this glorious day ☀️ had such a great time taking the pups to the Dachshund race and costume parade. We had missed the races because we didn't know where to go and we were a bit late but was so happy to see the costume parade and see so many other dachshunds. I was enjoying it so much I forgot to take photos 🤦🏻♀️ Anyway I'm really making the most prior to my start on Monday and honestly my body is really showing all the over indulgences. Light weights-supersets-4x10. 💪 #cardiofreefriday may start being a thing! 😊 We got home from hockey not too long ago, and I got the glamper about 1/2 packed for tomorrow. Mason and I are going out riding/glamping at Dove Spring's with our neighbors. 🏜 I'm beat. Tomorrow's a rest day, but it will be an active rest day for me. It's been one of those weeks where I've worn gym clothes everyday 👟, with every intention to workout 🏃🏽♀️... but I ended up eating McDonald's twice in 3 days & passing out at 8.30pm instead. 🍔🍟😴 We all have days, weeks or even months during which life just knocks you around... and it wins. 👊🏼💥 Plain & simple. 😔We've all been there, we all live busy lives, & it can be incredibly overwhelming at times for us mere mortals. 🤕☔️ I haven't had the physical, mental or emotional energy to exercise this week, let alone do anything other than work & study. 📚💉💊 And that's okay, I haven't beaten myself up about it - & I know there's always next week to get back into it if I'm feeling a little better. 🙂💕 Be gentle with yourself, & listen to what your body & soul needs. If it's Maccas on the lounge with Netflix 🍔🍟, & a snuggle with the dog 🐶, after a huge couple of days - so be it! 😉 Happy weekend everyone ☀️

Just showing up isn't enough, you have to push yourself... something I'm working on in my climbing and other workouts where I don't have a coach in my ear🙈 it's hard to coach yourself!! 😜 happy FriYAY!

Happy first day of fall everyone!! Boy do I have news for you! We have finally fallen in love with a home and will be moving!!! 🎉 Just think, pretty soon I will be working on creating my very own kitchen for bigger, better, crazier meal preps! 🤩 Also, home workouts! Trained chest and triceps feeling like a swollen leaky balloon head last night- I won't lie it was awful but I was super proud that I got through it and even managed 10 minutes of HIIT cardio after!

Seemingly overnight💫, everyone started eating up the "nutritional perks" of açaí bowls. But there might be a hot purple health halo radiating from the trendy dish.
So what's the health hang-up? The açaí bowl is basically a "sugar bomb". Açaí bowls can have 50g of sugar [the equivalent of 12 teaspoons], or double what the American Heart Association recommends for women for an entire day. To put it into perspective: That's four times more sugar than most doughnuts 🍩. And if you go heavy on the toppings, that number gets even higher.
The Jamba Juice shown above? 91g of sugar.
Here's the thing: Alone, the açaí berry is legit. It's loaded with antioxidants. And it's a fruit that's relatively low in sugar. But since the berry comes from the Amazon, and is highly perishable, it won't be popping up at your farmers' market anytime soon. Instead, it's often sold in powder or purée form, which most people prefer to consume mixed with something—nut milk and frozen fruit are popular options. And thus: The sugary açaí bowl was born.
For your next trip, cut down on the portion size! And, limit your toppings to two fresh cut fruits. Now if this isn't quite what you're looking for, head on over to Starbucks and try one of their Blueberry, Honey Greek Yogurt Parfaits! It's half the calories and almost twice the number of protein!
