Meal out at Tommys Joynt in SF last night. Hands down one of my favorite places to eat despite them slowly raising the prices over the years 😑. I remember a few years ago I would get mild anxiety over eating at places that didn't perfectly list the macros. I called myself a "flexible dieter" but I was married to those 3 numbers in an unhealthy way.
This truly is not a way to live. So now on days like this I will go out with a good idea of how many calories I have left on the day and majority of my protein goal consumed. In this case I knew I had 1200ish calories left and 35 grams of protein to go. Whether this all turned out to be More or less had no significant impact on my total energy balance and having this presence of mind allows me to truly be flexible about how I live my life and manage my goals. Especially during a "gaining" phase #flexibledieting#tommysjoynt#bbq#bbqbeef#sandwich#gainz
I made this BBQ beef in my stories the other day to show you how simple it is. It takes practically no effort (recurring theme with me? 🤔), and it's so unbelievably good. I've posted this before, but here ya go again:👇🏻
I start with a grassfed chuckroast (actually✌🏻for my fam!) and put it in my big cast iron pot. Sprinkle with salt and put about an inch or so of bone broth in the pot (I use homemade broth or @kettleandfire grassfed broth). Cover and put it in the oven at 325 degrees.
After about 3.5 hours, take it out and remove the bones and big pieces of fat. Shred it up and mix with all the juices and put it back in the oven for another 30 minutes. Then, after that, take it out and add whatever BBQ sauce you use. (It's actually delicious without the BBQ sauce too.) Then I just turn the oven down to about 250 and keep it in there until I'm ready to serve it! Nothing to it!
