Mi piace la mattina perché tutto scorre lento e sempre uguale: Diana che dorme, i passi scalzi, i capelli in disordine, la musica alla radio. 
In una vita mai identica al giorno precedente una delle cose che amo di più sono quelle poche abitudini a cui sono radicata. 
Il non avere fretta di dover fare qualcosa, il preparare la colazione con calma e nel frattempo rimanere seduta sul divano a rispondere ai vostri messaggi, spalancare le finestre e sentire il profumo di rosmarino che entra in casa, guardare il disordine che c’è e dire che in fondo va bene così, che non importa: se c’è disordine vuol dire che ero impegnata a fare qualcosa che mi rende felice 🙏🏻
Dicono che le persone felici non avranno mai una casa ordinata, voglio crederci e voglio convincermene 💗

Brazil/macadamia nut & basil pesto 🌱
I make a batch of this each week, usually with macadamia nuts. I like half macadamia and half Brazil nuts the best. 🌱
You will need:
2 bunches of basil, washed and spun dry
1 clove of garlic, crushed
1 cup of lightly toasted Brazil or macadamia nuts, cooled (half Brazil, half macadamia is perfect)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt
1 tsp ACV
How to:
Throw the basil in your food processor, crushed garlic, salt, nuts, EVOO and ACV & blend till you reach your desired consistency. NOTE I advise not eating more than 2 tbsp a day due to the high selenium content of Brazil nuts. Store in a glass jar for up to 5 days. X #recipeshare #farmersmarkets #sustainablelifestyle #selenium

I bring you a very bittersweet post.😆Tried something different for breakfast today: cocoa+grapefruit oats! I woke up definitely feeling the oatmeal, definitely not feeling the sweet. I'll be straight with you - there was nothing sweet about this combo. You definitely need to be a grapefruit fan to enjoy, but regardless the chocolate oats were on point! If you want a chocolate/citris breakfast with more sweetness, try a navel orange instead!🍊 If you stick with grapefruit, I recommend the Florida Ruby Red variety as it's a little more mellow when it comes to the tang.

What is w my Pavlovian response to hearing the door shut behind me after school pick up and immediately needing something salty and crunchy (re: crackers. ALL the crackers)??? Any ideas on how to break that habit? Like no, a handful of crackers (or 2...) isn’t the end of the world 🌎 but dang. Maybe a cup of tea? Or a seltzer/kombucha? I’m so annoyed w myself.

And while we’re sippin’ that truth juice I had a bag of caramel M&Ms. Did I mention I’m a stress eater? I’ll never be that person that loses weight over a tragic event. I’ll double down on the cheesecake. 🍰🤦🏼‍♀️

Late night grub on point! 👌🏼 Thanks to meal prepping and keeping my fridge + pantry as stocked as possible. On Thursday’s hubby and I work late. So I usually whip us up some kinda nourish bowl on the fly. Tonight is arugula, baby kale, radicchio and watermelon radish tossed in lemon juice, olive oil and dukkah. Topped with 2 scoops of homemade wild caught salmon salad (black bean burger for hubs) blood orange, raw broccoli, cashews, and herbs. #Whole30 approved!

MEATBALLSSSS // Riffing on @ottolenghi’s lamb meatballs with barberries from the Jerusalem cookbook. I used beef here and they’ll be slowed cooked with figs, prunes, whole shallots & red cipollini onions in wine and chicken stock and then served with saffron pearl couscous, lemony yogurt and herbs. Perfect for rainy night in! I prepared two versions: one for me and my husband and the other small bowl is for my 1 y/o daughter Maeve—no salt or barberries for her but everything else is the same! I’ll try to take an “after” pic tomorrow when there’s more light if you guys are interested. Stay cozy and nourished, friends! ❤️

i have been slacking on the veggies lately so i made a loaded bowl for dinna!!👅 and i was too lazy to cook up some meat so tonight i guess i am going vegan! 😆 i haven't had quinoa in what seems like forever so it definitely hit the spot with all the veggies!! i hope you guys are having a great night!! and tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!🎉 even though this week was only a 4 day week it still felt like a 5 day week so i am glad it's almost over!! have an awesome night✌🏻❤

1) I took my own headshots today lol. Im holding some Brussel sprouts..Because why not? 2) heading into the weekend I’m feeling so grateful that I’ve been able to turn my passion for food styling, photography and recipe development into a career. I worked with some amazing brands the past couple weeks and I’m feeling like a lucky girl! 🤗 still have SO much to learn but I feel like this year is my year to get shit done (as @joyoushealth Would say)! 3) I’m thinking about taking the @prairieviewphotography course . Has anyone out there taken it?

Oh oh ohhhhhhh look what he did!! He surprised me w one of my favorite dinners and made up a new martini😄😄 Incase you didn’t know, it’s kinda become my favorite special drink to have whenever we go out... which is rare LOL.

Here’s the deal, it’s only Day 4 of my new program that I’m totally doing well with... so what’s this chick to do? 
Say No thanks I can’t have it?
Drink it up and have more? 
My choice, I enJOY the ONE drink and be grateful for a husband that gives me these sweet surprises 😊

It’s true, if I went the full program with NO alcohol ... my results would be outstanding ... but then what?!? Ya know what’s really cool? I used to fear judgement of others, ya know, what if other people think I’m setting a bad example? I used to fear if I didn’t follow a program perfectly I would fail 😩

Not thinkin that way now!!
I’ve learned that I am on my own journey and what someone else thinks doesn’t matter, what I think and what I feel is what really counts! And ya know what, I’m not perfect. Nobody is and there is NO perfect way to do life! 
Each of us are different and need to make the best choices for ourselves! Sometimes we just need a little help experimenting and finding those best choices for a good lifestyle😄not for short term success!

Guess I’m trying to say there is a way to make changes in your life that bring you good results in health, mind, body and spirit w out giving up everything you enJOY!

This recipe took me a total of 3 minutes to make and 5 minutes to eat leaving me with 7 minutes to change out of my work clothes and into my gym clothes!! Sometimes every minute counts. When you need a warm cooked breakfast but are short on time - this comes together in 15 minutes. Meal prep tip: I love slicing cabbage at the start of the week so it’s ready to be thrown into a skillet or tossed into any bowl for a nice raw crunch. 💪🏻 To make this, preheat oven to 375, sauté a big handful of purple cabbage, a couple sliced mushrooms & the whites of two green onions, spice it up, make two small wells and crack eggs in ‘em. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until eggs set. Top with a dollop of yogurt, the rest of the green onions, and sliced radish. So simple, so good. 😛

Today's breakfast was a little more special than usual to celebrate #winniethepooh day in collaboration with @grabease. I made Honey-Banana-Whipped Cream (in a jar) along with some pancakes. Munchkin loved the whipped cream that had 3 of her favorite foods and ate it straight with her @grabease spoon. She wasn't happy when I took it away to get out the door. (She got more in her lunch box.)

🥞 Pancakes were inspired by @yummytoddlerfood applesauce pancakes which turned out super fluffy and delicious.

🍯 Honey-banana-whipped cream:
✔️ 1.5 cup heavy whipping cream
✔️ 1 ripe banana
✔️ 2 tbsp honey
👉🏻 (optional) Put a metal bowl in a freezer to chill, while you make the pancakes and prepare the banana mash.
👉🏻 Mash banana and mix with honey. I used a handheld mixer to mash it to a liquid consistency.
👉🏻 In a chilled metal bowl, add heavy whipping cream. With a handheld mixer (or use a stand mixer), whisk the cream until it forms stiff peaks.
👉🏻 Fold in (gently mix in) the banana mash to the whipped cream.

✳️ Are you willing to struggle with yourself to make change happen? ✳️ When we attempt to change something for the better we always risk disappointing ourselves if we can’t achieve or maintain the change.  When I started my nutritarian journey 5 years ago I was propelled to change because I was completely fed up.  I didn’t realize how hard it would be to go whole food plant based (no oil and low-sodium) overnight.  I almost quit on day #1.  See our brains don’t ever want us to change.  Our brain craves prediction.  It wants to be able to predict what’s happening in the future and then act accordingly, even with things that are bad for you.  My brain simply predicted that I’d go on another binge each day, it knew what it would feel like to be uncomfortable and bloated afterwards, it even knew I would torture myself for it with guilt and shame.  Even though I was doing something that was bad for me, my brain craved that ability to predict.  It knew exactly what to expect living as a food-addict and compulsive over-eater.  When my life changed overnight my brain had nothing to grasp onto—we’ve never done something like this before!  Panic, fear, anxiety all set in, and hard.  But I fought though it.  I told people what I was trying to do.  I struggled.  I had nightmares where I’d eat something off-plan. I literally white-knuckled my way through the resistance my brain was putting up and finished those first 6 weeks.  And with that accomplishment I learned the healing power of the nutritarian lifestyle 💚💚💚 The maintenance phase of my journey was another round of struggling to change—with new failures, setbacks, and restarts. Homemade Pad Thai with some 💥 Curry Lemongrass Peanut Butter. Yes. It’s real. It’s from a small local vendor and it’s perfect for Pad Thai. Pad Thai is actually pretty easy to make, I always wing It when It comes to the recipe but generally here’s what you need: 
Noodles! (I use rice, or sometimes mung bean) 
For the sauce: Fresh minced garlic & ginger 
Sesame or coconut oil 
Lemon and Lime juice 
Dash of coconut aminos 
3-4 tbsp peanut butter 
Dash rice vinegar 
Thai hot chili paste 
Cayenne, pepper, and salt to taste. 
Combine by hand or in a blender and toss with cooked noodles , protein, and veg. 
Cook with whatever protein & veggies you like. Pictured here is sweet potato and kale. 
Top with fresh herbs and fresh lemon or lime juice 🧡
Thai cuisine is SO delicious and SO healthy and SO easy to make! Whipped this up in less than 45 mins!

When I lived in Japan, I visited my Aunt in Hiroshima often. She always had a large jar of homemade dashi around. She would just ladle a bit out into each dish as she was cooking it. I happened to be there on a day when she made it and I was 🤯 at how easy it was.
