Let's talk about the hard stuff... that is something we do every Friday, and what we call Feature Friday. The women who share their stories do so with triumph, bravery and with the intent to help others who may be struggling with the same issues. Chronic illness is a theme that seems to plague many women, and many women hikers, women who have chosen the outdoors as a solace.
I am excited and honored to introduce you to someone who has shared her story, and empowered her own community called @morethanlyme share her story and also hope some of you join her on the trail as she launches MTL adventures:
"It started out with me, for 10 plus years, putting up walls and keeping my guard up, maybe more specifically, making sure word didn't get out that I had Lyme Disease.
For awhile, it worked, I was able to go through all of high school and even a bit of college before it grabbed hold of me, pushing itself into every part of my life. I had to say something, I had to let go of this idea that I needed to be someone other than who I already was.
So I dropped everything, saying goodbye to the life I built in Washington, and making the sudden and unexpectedly best decision of my life to move down to Bend, Oregon. Which is where the community that makes up More Than Lyme comes in, providing me with a safety net and endless encouragement like I had never felt before.
Not just that, but this community became something bigger than me. It became, and still is becoming, a place where we can take our stories and use them as every reason to keep going, whether it be up mountains and over rivers, or to that doctors appointment that we've been putting off for a little to long.
More Than Lyme allows is a community that urges those fighting Lyme Disease, or anything for that matter, as every reason to keep living a life more than your doubts and fears.
I'm so excited to announce that we are now going to be hosting MTL Adventures across the PNW, and hopefully beyond. To find out how you can get involved, just search More Than Lyme Adventures on Facebook and join in on our very first in-person meet up!"
When most people think of how to choose their friends, they have a worldly casual concept rather than a biblical one. In John 15:15: Jesus told his disciples he called them friends and not servants. Since the Kingdom of God is based upon relationship, it’s important we know how to choose our friends wisely.
True Kingdom fellowship should be with the ultimate goal of getting closer to someone to advance Kingdom purposes. Most people are too quick to call someone a friend just because they have a few things in common. Choosing friends should be a lot more important than just picking as a friend someone you merely work with or enjoying Netflix binging tv shows with.
There are many people I would like to hang out with all the time. But when it comes to the Kingdom there is more to it than that.
Here’s some of the criteria Jesus had before He chose who would be His friends:
→he prayed about it.
→in Luke 6:12-13, Jesus prayed all night before He chose twelve closest people to Him.
→His friends lived lives of obedience to God.
→Jesus chose friends He could share His heart with.
→He proactively chose His friends.
→Jesus’s friends were those who stood by Him during hard trials.
Remember this, for always 🍂

The key to suffering well as a Christian is to treasure Christ above all else. We must learn to treasure him above comfort, health, loved ones, careers, money and all other desires. It's not that we won't feel the ache of these losses and trials. But our souls will be rooted in the truth that no matter what we face, we have the ultimate treasure that will never rust or be stolen from us. The heartcry of a Christian suffering well is this: Lord, you're more than enough for me.
For the first time in a while, I'm staring at a blank screen wondering what to write for my Instagram caption.
A lot of the content I had prepared seems so trite and inauthentic.
It's a problem I've been thinking about a lot lately, this mission to be authentic so I can connect with the right clients and other creatives.
When I catch myself thinking that honesty and authenticity are things that I should be doing relentlessly in all forms of my creative output including this one, I have to remind myself that this whole social media thing is fake.
Nobody truly lets on their struggles, problems, crises of confidence, and why should they? That's not what clients want to hear.
Weakness, fear, doubt, confusion and unhappiness have no place in this bubble. Those kinds of revelations would show that you, as a business professional, are in not control of your shit, not important and have no significance.
But the truth is, for personal reasons where I'm at today is a difficult place. And that's OK.
Fellow creatives who are trying to sell something, how vulnerable should we be?

It's so easy to become cynical and skeptical of life when things are not looking how we want or plan. But, when we keep our heart open to the love that surrounds us, we grow and hopefully we take what we've learned and share it with the world. Embrace your life-the gritty, imperfect, beautiful gift you've been given and tell your story. You are fine & good! -———————————————————————
Last night I had the opportunity to listen to the stories of several golden-hearted women here in Nashville at a gathering hosted by the boss babes of @heywanderer and @sarahbelleelizabeth. It's a powerful thing to share your heart and hear others share theirs. It was especially fun for me because we got to give a few of our affirmation prints and encouragement cards face to face (which usually doesn't happen, since I always hide our notes in plain sight for a stranger to find later!) Last night I witnessed in real time how what we're all doing together, sharing kindness with our simple encouragement cards, resonates with the heartbeat of others. It is my most favorite thing ever!! Thanks Casey, Savannah and Sarah for a truly special evening
YOU can join us in this mission to #shareloveeverywhere at the link in our bio, make your own kindness magic, and maybe even change the world in the process!
Happy Friday, friends! 💛
I officially dub this engagement session - "the most iconic Richmond session." Alek and Eve celebrated their engagement along the paths of Libby Hill and the Richmond Science Musuem. It was so cool hearing about their dating relationship since high school, and how Alek's family has lived in the area since BEFORE it was even called Richmond! One of his family members had worked in the Lucky Strike building for almost 70 years that looms in the background of Libby Hill, and they shared their first date at the Richmond Science Museum! You can catch the rest of their images on the blog!

Hope is Alive today!
There is no substitution for the Presence of God. Gathered with thousands of worshippers in the heart of Los Angeles. We came here to meet with God, to see His will and His plans come to earth.
Pretty awesome day, guys.
Literally how all of us white girl's feel now that we can officially drink our PSL and decorate with all of our fall-themed Target + Hobby Lobby finds in peace (even though we've been doing both for the past 3 weeks, whatevs). 🙌🏻🍁☕️
Also, (shameless plug) this picture is from a fun shoot I did with my friends at @milkandhoneymrkt. They are launching in 9 DAYS 🎉 and if you're into beautiful handmade jewelry, giveaways, and empowering women across the globe then give them a follow!
Those of you that are already married, do you sit around thinking about how your wedding would look now after a few years? I know I do! It's fun to daydream. Currently, my dream bridal look would consist of clog heels & milkmaid braids. What about yours? ✨
*flashback Friday* I remember a time when I would swing by a gas station or a grocery store nearly every single morning. I would grab an energy drink and several doughnuts.
I would down these on my way to class or work. And you can bet I experienced a crash a couple hours later because I had tried to fuel my body with pure sugar and chemicals.
*current situation* It has been five years since I have inhaled an energy drink. Now, I fuel my body with the way I eat. I load up primarily on proteins and veggies. And this cup of goodness is one of my favorite ways to fuel my body!
It is full of so many good things from the ground & from trees, from around the world, and from the absolute best resources. This is my favorite way to drink it - adding so much more veggies, adding fruit, and always in smoothie / milkshake form, and if a mason jar is involved then I am real happy!

It’s hard, I know. Grieving sucks. The pain is still fresh. The tears fall throughout the day and you have a thousand questions. That has been me the last few days. So many questions and no answers, but God tells us that there’s a time for everything. A time to mourn, a time to laugh, a time to dance, a time to heal and the list goes on. Somewhere in the midst of that, I’m in mourning. Last night, God gave me such a peace about everything. I had just finished crying and he reminded me that his timing is perfect. Though we don’t understand it, he does. God knows what he’s doing. So yes, it has been hard and the days to follow will be hard as well, but I rest assured knowing that he’s with me every step of the way. Thank you all for your calls, texts, DMs, voicemails, prayers and everything else. My heart is full and I am grateful 💛
I am not very good at asking for help. I desperstely want to be super-mommy and set too high expectations. .
This past year it became obvious how much hurt and bitternes was able to take root from the lie that I needed to prove my worth. These stacks of laundry are reminding me today how when I ask for help I am often greeted with a willing husband, friend or mom and not by someone dissappointed in my failings.
Starting the morning with tarot, coffee, and singing a few of my favorites at the top of my lungs on the front porch. That #fridayfeel . 🤘🏼 Also it's the autumn equinox and I am so excited I could burst. I used to have favorite seasons and now my favorite thing is right in between them all, as the earth shifts from one way of being to another. As it does I can feel the same process happening within. Oh, change, how I love you. 🍃🍂
TGIF friends! 🤗
Being a school-based OT I hop around between schools and don't have an "office". Meaning almost all my work besides treatment takes place at home. I have found it absolutely necessary to create a space where I feel energized and focused to remain on task and not become distracted by dishes, my to-do lists or the dog 😬
Diffusing this little blend helps improve focus and energy! It contains stimulating oils such as peppermint and rosemary to promote mental sharpness 🌿+ so much more!
It can be diffused during homework time for kids, in an office during a busy work day or anytime you need some "clarity"
What helps you stay focused throughout your work day?
All about nature and simple subjects, things like purple thistle and a field of mustard weed, and adorable little bird paintings (of which I have one of my very own!), read all about my #artcrushxo @angelamariemoulton (link in bio) #artinspiration#birdsofinstagram#artfriends

This is my favorite recipes- with none other than BLACK BEANS!!!!! I topped this with Halo Top Vanilla Bean ice cream- because why not- all in the same of protein pacing ;-) Confession- sometimes I throw spinach in there too- shhhhh! Don't tell my kids because they gobble these down like crazy!

Can I get an amen to this total #tbt D.A.R.E sweatshirt l got at my local thrift shop! 🙌🏼 And also if you know me, you know my obsession with water bottles. And I'm pretty sure I've found.... the one! 💍 It keeps my water cold... and I mean cold, cold! AND the ice stays icey all the live long day. #iceicebaby#mynewestbaby @shopsimplemodern
My favorite planner gal @corieclark is doing pre-orders for her 2018 @purposefulplanner. Make sure you use code: PREORDER to save 10% through the 30th. Corie has Daily and Weekly options. She has 5 different covers. I've been using my planner as a prayer journal and I love it. I love that I'll be able to look back on specific dates and see what I wrote about.
Headed into the weekend like ✌🏼Bring it on Fall! Head on over to our website to browse new arrivals! Monday will bring LOTS of new items in store ready to ship! @bradleymountain @sayjayh @masakathrynphotography @freepeople
Day 5 of #SinkIntoSavasana is about saying yes to yourself and having a Friday night in. It feels like Brad and I have been run a little ragged this week with both of our new jobs and new schedules. It's all good, but it takes time to adjust and find our bearings again.
So I am more than happy to have a Friday night in this evening. A typical night in for us involves playing board games and watching a movie or TV show (currently Parks and Recreation). I think that's just what I need tonight, so I'm saying yes.
How do you say yes to yourself? What does a Friday night in look like for you?
Maybe you or a loved ❤️one has experienced this sometimes devastating phenomenon. .
It starts with 1 thing and then it begins to multiply. Much like the TV show Lost or The Walking Dead 💀 vegetation may start to hide the items. This only seems to exacerbate the condition. .
You are convinced that it's only temporary!! There's nothing to worry about! The abuser might tell you it's all in your head. They're going to get to it. 👌🏽
As Autumn 🍂 is upon us and the leaves 🍃 begin to fall the condition becomes harder to cover. .
Yard Blindness 😳🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ .
You can get help. You don't have to be an accessory to this growing problem. Point out the obvious issues. Then keep pointing them out... .
There is support! 😂🤣😂🤣😂 #HouseChicken#YardBlind#ILoveMyHusband#100PercentWearingSocksWithFlipFlops
Kissing summer goodbye!
Well.. maybe after this 80 degree weekend 🤗 it's our last weekend at the shore for a while + we're not complaining that it still feels like summer.
Fall, we'll see ya on Monday! 🍂
"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be." -Revelation 22:12
The King is coming quickly! He told me to warn His people! Ready or not He is coming back! Get yourself in order! Do not tarry on this matter! The Bridegroom says come! You need the gift of the Holy Ghost. Holiness without no man shall see the Lord. Now is the time to acquaint yourself with the Lord. He is standing at the door knocking at your heart. Let Him in. The Crown Giver is coming!
If you need someone to believe God with you or pray with you. Please do not be afraid to send me a DM. 😊
this past week marked a new moon in Virgo, which means it's a time for self-healing. we're also halfway through the madness that is the return to September routine...hello colds and flus.
it's way too easy to put yourself on the back burner to make sure everyone else is taken care of, and that's not okay.
as we settle into new routines, it's crucial that time to care for yourself is a priority. fill your own cup first (especially if it's with wine.)
Celebrating the first day of my favorite season! This time of the year makes me miss my North West home the most. The crisp air, pumpkin patches, sweaters, the changing colors in the trees, taking long fall drives until you get lost, and so much more! Take me back to fall🍁💛🍂❤️
I remember when I used to carefully select beautiful items like this to decorate my perfect little bachelor apartment - everything was clean, beautiful, and intentional.
Now my living room is covered in toys and yesterday's mac n cheese. 🙈

I also wanted to take a second to send you over to @shopmimimiller blog. I'm sharing a few tips about how I stay organized while juggling roles as mama, wife, entrepreneur, freelancer, and official flat lay addict. Not least among my tips is the ability to embrace mistakes and prioritize self-care, both of which are actual reminders to myself. •

A little #tbt to camping last fall in celebration of the First Day of Fall! 🍃🍂🍁
If only it felt like it - today it's 88. 😳🔥
Enjoy your weekend my friends - no matter what the temp is outside.
Bask in the goodness of our Savior, for even though the seasons change and we do, He remains steadfast forever!
Do you know the amount of time I wish I could seat on a sofa with friends and tell them confidently "Oh yes, I totally know my purpose in life. I understood very young what God had in storage for me, I got blessed to have good connections around me that allowed me to be where I am now. I minister for His Kingdom part time job while being a spouse and mom and taking care of our little home on the other part time schedule" (keetshinggggg 😁✨✨✨ shining tooth in bonus).
Well the truth? The truth is that nothing of all this ever happened to me. I am 31 years old. My fiancé abandoned me 3 weeks before our wedding day. I am only now trying to figure out my calling and purpose in life when others find it at the age of 15! I am single and had to deal the last year with rejection and abandonment. I still patiently wait for the Lord to answer my heart's desire of being married and hearing the laughers of my 'booboos' at home (still planning of having at least 3 baby boys. If God gives me baby girls, I'll love it too). And for now, in the midst of unanswered requests and desires and still filled with wonder of where does God want me (and by this I mean ministry and country), for now... I press on in hope by faith and hold on to the only thing I know so well: God is a good good Father and it pleases Him to give good things to His children. So girls, let's press on all together, knowing that God's timing is perfect, He does answer the godly desires of the heart and we surely will see His glory in our messy life.

FRIENDS!! We need your help ASAP!
We have launched our 'G and R Turn Three' Campaign and we are in need of BODY WIPES & TRAVEL SIZED LOTION for 200 Boxes of Hope - gift boxes filled and donated to women on bed rest. All donations are tax deductible & have a sole purpose in spreading hope in a season that can feel hopeless. These women are unable to shower and I've been there. Your skin hurts. Your self-esteem hurts. Your faith hurts.
If you're able to meet me this weekend, drop by my house, order online and have shipped to me or donate online via our link in bio, we will pack these items at our next Packing Party & deliver to local hospitals. 💙💙 We cannot thank you enough for joining us in gifting our boys the gift of giving hope because she matters. #shematters#boxofhope#thecolorblueandhope 📷: @joshandrachel
