So here's a progress pic of what so far has been a pretty unsuccessful bulk. Instructing classes like Spin three times a week has put far more cardio into my programme than I'd like (according to my Fitbit I burned 6700 calories on Monday), but really the blame lies with me. So if you're struggling with putting on size, here's what I've learned:
1) Track your food, or at least your calories and protein. I didn't do this as I didn't want to track all year round, but its lead to no consistency whatsoever and no insight into what I can do to improve things.
2) Don't think you can replace whole foods with garbage while bulking. Now I'm all for the dirty bulk, but skipping decent meals to then try and make it up with shite is not going to give your body what it needs to really grow. So by all means eat chocolate, crisps, ice cream, McDonald's whatever, but make sure your base is the basics we all know and love - chicken, rice, potatoes, mince, steak, etc.
