My client Laura Mc Connell has been with me for 8 weeks now. She give birth 16+ weeks ago and wanting to get in shape again.
She came to me eating 10st 5lbs in body weight
Her weight now is 8st 13lbs
She stuck to a high protein , low fat and carb diet with and conditioning training programme

Here we go
I’ll be honest I toyed with the idea of sharing this picture because I was totally embarrassed 😞 with the position I let myself get into.
Now I know a few clients have said they couldn’t believe I thought I was fat or overweight etc but trust me in this picture below I was properly disgusted at myself, I felt like shit, I felt ashamed and I felt like I was living a lie.
Here I was talking to my clients about looking after themselves to boast their confidence and happiness yet I was lying to myself.
I didn’t want to take my top off even round the house because I was ashamed of my 'love handles' at the end of the day I’m a personal trainer.
In fact I wouldn’t even take Kealan swimming as I was worried about what people would think of my shape, it hurt bad and I needed to sort it out.
WHY and HOW did this happen? There is host of reasons and excuses I could come up with like having a baby, sleepless nights, long work days etc but if I’m being 100% honest it was lack of self discipline and lack of purpose for training that got me there.
I needed to change that and I contacted Phil Graham with the goal of doing a photo shoot and paid him to keep me accountable along the way.
The reason I feel I need to share this story is that for the first time in my short life I probably gained the wrong type of weight and had the exact same struggles as my clients.
I can relate and connect more on a deeper level with the understanding and compassion that I’ve been there, I know what you feel like and I know how to get you out of the hole.
Looking back in some weird way it was a great experience that I think will lead me down a path of helping even more people with their fitness journeys.
Now more than ever I understand the importance of having a coach to help along the way.
I never want to let myself feel like that again and I want to inspire others who are in a similar situation to completely step out of their comfort zone and push forward to a healthier, happier and more confident version of themselves.
This was hard for me to open up about but I believe in being fully transparent and sometimes feel people think PTs are flawless, I’
'Winning Wednesday's' come round so fast BUT when we have as many incredible success stories to share with you it can't come quick enough.
Honestly I get so excited writing these up, showcasing the amazing results our clients get when they fully immerse themselves into the No Limits Fitness family community.
Like all the past 'Winning Wednesday' clients, I remember when Ciara joined the first message I sent her just to check up, I got a reply along the lines of "I love the sessions but I'll be honest I'm not sticking to the food choices lol." Like so many people we told her not to sweat and we would look after her. She is also a former "Hot Mum Champion" not a title to be taking lightly in the No Limits camp.
Anyway enough from me, we asked Ciara a few questions to help inspire others towards achieving massive success in their fitness journey. "Lol I nearly died opening this message and did contemplate saying no because I was scundered 😂😂 So here it goes....🙈 I heard about NLF through a friend. She had started a couple of months prior and was raving about how much she liked it! I was very apprehensive, I was unhappy in myself and lacked confidence. Even though I had managed to lose weight through dieting before I felt something was missing.
After a few weeks of persistence to try NLF out on my friends part I finally gave in and signed up to a 21 day challenge. I didn't know what to expect the first evening I walked in but everyone was lovely and I felt instantly at ease.
Before joining NLF I had tried various classes and also a couch to 5k program but I quickly gave up.
Last year I did a 6 week challenge - Hot Mum Makeover and much to my amazement I won!! I feel that this is when I started to believe 'I can do this!' It gave me a confidence boost and made me want to continue my journey. I have now been a member for around 1.5 years. It's become a place where I can come to de-stress and I try to go 5 times a week even though I may complain while doing it! 😂
