People who accomplish big things in life must face naysayers who try to discourage them. Anyone who has ever tried to do anything great has always come face-to-face with naysayers. The thing is, naysayers aren’t necessarily bad people. They may truly want what’s best for you. They may love you. But they’re not God. So don’t treat their opinions like you would God’s opinions.
The Bible says, “The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in God protects you from that” (Proverbs 29:25). Some of us have been disabled by the opinions of others and we don’t even realize it. In a sense, some of us have become addicted to the approval of others. Another translation of Proverbs 29:25 says, “It is dangerous to be concerned with what other people think of you, but if you trust the Lord, you are safe." When you give more weight to the opinions of others than you do to God’s opinion, you’ll stay on the sidelines when God wants you in the game. You’ll stay locked up in a prison of self-made fear. Other people’s opinions can sidetrack you from God’s purpose for your life. Don’t let that happen. In Isaiah 8:13, the Bible says, “The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread." So break the chains of fear and go after God’s vision for your life. He’s your biggest supporter. He wants you to succeed, and he’s working in your life so you will.
The other day I brought up being an emotional eater. Today I want to share just a few things to be aware of. 1. Learn, understand, and choose MINDFULNESS. 2. Practice SELF LOVE & COMPASSION. 3. Learn what your TRIGGERS are. 4. Allow yourself to FEEL (even the bad emotions). 5. STOP & ask yourself "am I hungry or am I angry, tired, lonely?
Take the time to learn these things about yourself. Once you know your triggers, understand mindfulness, know if you are honestly physically hungry... taking action will be so much easier.
When I first saw this picture I laughed. I mean, how ridiculous is that face?
Then I realized when I looked at the time stamp that I was just about to cross the finish line of my first half marathon. MY FIRST HALF MARATHON.
So many emotions were rolling around in my head and clearly on my face in this picture.
I couldn’t believe I was about to cross the finish line after running for 13.2 miles. In that moment, seeing all of those people; seeing my daughters cheering me on; I was overcome with emotion and on the verge of an ugly cry.
For me, this half marathon was so much more than running.
It represents all the hard work I’ve put in for the last two years; not just physically, but mentally as well. Goals; setting them and achieving them. Belief; I can actually accomplish this. Determination; to finish what I started and then to continue on; to better myself.
As a kid I was never a runner. In fact I hated every year in gym class when they made you run that mile. Sprinting I could do because that didn’t last long. But endurance running, oh hell no. But see, back then I never tried. I never wanted to.
I was never an athlete. Never even crossed my mind to try and be one. Because when I think of athletes I think of professionals; people who do this for a living. People who are good at what they do; the best of the best.
I am not an athlete. I’m a regular person. A wife, mother, sister and friend. ...
I ran that half marathon for myself, for my daughters, for (and with) my husband. I ran it for all of the people that believed in me, encouraged me and supported me. I ran that half marathon for all of the people who have inspired me and continue to motivate me. And I ran that half marathon for all of the people who doubt themselves, those who are "just not sure" if they can do it. Whatever "it" may be. ...
I’m not done yet. I have so much more to do. This is just the beginning…
As we near the end of our 90 day program I found pictures from our first day.
I was SO nervous to start a program of heavy weightlifting and increased calorie intake.
I was nervous I would gain weight.
I was nervous I would fail.

I've been having a rough couple of days mentally. I've had a hard time getting motivated to get to the gym or eat the meals I'm supposed to. I was even having second thoughts on competing. Quitting is harder than trying and failing for me and now I'm back on my feet with even more motivation. This post goes out to people in the same situation. Life is going to get hard. You will have set-backs. People will doubt you and try to tear you down. You may even second guess or doubt yourself but quitting is not the answer. Never give up on yourself no matter how hard the road to success is. You can do anything you put your mind to, all you have to do is believe in yourself and put one foot in front of the other.
I hooked up my client with some SBD knee sleeves today. Chris had knee surgery in the past and has undergone a year of my training. As a token of my appreciation she gets some SBD's! Now we can take things to the next level!🏋🏻♀️
