DAY 1/80 💜💛💚These little resistance bands + weights gave me a run for my money this morning. 60 minutes of exercises and I legit enjoyed myself the entire time! I'm already loving this program and it's only day 1️⃣ Can't wait to see where it takes us and our Fit Club 😍But the question remains, are you gonna be on the journey with us?? 💪🏼☺️

I've been in a bit of a daze the past 24 hours.
I walked in to teach this afternoon
And the heater was blaring
And 20+ students were looking at me
To say something.
To guide them through something.
And I sat on my mat to greet them,
And the words couldn't come out.
So I just said it, "I'm feeling anxious."
And as soon as I said it,
I felt a weight lifted off my chest.
And perhaps I'm doing some work
And some work
On my past
And I'm not ready to talk about that yet.
But this morning I woke up
And I wanted to dye my hair
All blonde again
So I wouldn't look like him
To not always be

Walking my mom around the farm, it feels like we’re full of three year plans to be set in motion this year. Big year. Big plans. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But I think there are plenty of glass-clinking moments to come 🤗

We get asked a lot, "Why this? Why newborns?" The reasons are many, but one is this baby here. 10-years-ago when he was born during a medical emergency. That day and the 11 days of hospitalization that followed were some of the most frightening/stressful/isolating days. And we were surrounded. Circled. Encompassed by our people. I can not imagine how difficult it would be to go through something like that on our own. Many of the families we hope to reach are alone. We want to surround the babies & families of Whatcom County. That photo on the left popped up on TimeHop this morning and as I scrolled through, I did a double take and went back and looked at that photo. It was taken six years ago. That smile says it all. I was unhappy, insecure, not confident, uncomfortable in my own skin, and my mental health was down the drain.
But that photo on the right is the woman I know now. The photo was taken a few weeks ago. That smile is the one I see 99% of the time. It is not fake or forced, but genuine. Six years later, things are not perfect.
But I can tell you that I am happy more often than unhappy, a lot less insecure, a lot more confident, in a constant state of growth with being comfortable in my own skin, and so much more aware of where my mental health is (and how to catch it & fix it when it starts dropping).
You want to know what has changed?
🌲 I started investing in my self and my health.
🌻 I changed what I put in my body and started learning more about quality of food.
🌲 I started moving my body on a daily basis.
🌻 I found a community of women to keep myself accountable.
🌲 I started practicing self-care & making “me time” an important rhythm in my week, along with routines that keep me in check.
🌻 I began reading personal development books and drastically changed my mindset, perspective, and outlook on a number of topics.

Day 3 and I’m feeling so lean and energized — it’s amazing what dialing in your nutrition can do to expedite your results🍃 you can spend hours in the gym moving your body but if you meet that in the middle with a poor diet you’re going to be disappointed with your results.. a large majority of your results actually come from the kitchen! Thank goodness for my meal plan laying all of this out for me.. and in case you were wondering I’m far from going hungry or starving myself!
Meal 1: Nutrient dense superfoods with banana and pb🍌
Meal 2: Sliced apple and carrots with pistachios🥕
Meal 3: Oven roasted butternut squash, pork tenderloin, mashed sweet potatoes, olives, and a little scoop of pb (which really feels like a treat at lunch😇)
+ lots of water 💦
