Almost exactly a year ago, I attempted to summit Mt. Adams but only made it to South Butte because of a injury. And in this last year, God decided that I needed a life's worth of lessons all within a year. So when I was invited to do a single day approach, I knew I had to do it. I was actually a little scared of how I would do, I knew it would be hard but then again, nothing could of be harder then this last year.
We summited in 7 hours, down in 2.5.
I remember pulling into camp last year about the time people were headed up to do a single day approach and thinking how crazy they were.
And now I did it.
I'm so exhausted and sore, I don't think I will attempt stairs for a few days. And I want to eat all the food. But I finally feel a weight lifted off my shoulders for the first time in a long time. I feel as though as I have finally closed a chapter and I can finally move on, to whatever God has planned for me.
Heat warnings here had us dedicating all of our energy to staying cool. A couple cheap tubes, a hammock stand, and a mister attachment for the hose helped us achieve success! Well, that and the fact that a couple days in the low 80's isn't really a heat wave.😂😅
