We dont even call them vacations, its just a part of life. Traveling, experiencing, memory making. No asking for days off, no missing pay. Freedom. "Hard work pays off" is a lie, it depends on who is paying.
These are just some of the books I have read / I am reading / I am working through whilst we are building our business. As well as some of the amazing podcasts I listen to on my hugely long commute (@beingbossclub, @me_and_orla, and @flourish_thrive), these give me the inspiration and enthusiasm to keep doing what I’m doing. 😍 Are there any others you could recommend to add to my growing list? #thelifeofajewellerydesigner#beboss#bemyownboss#creativeboss @brenebrown @thedesigntrust @thebrandstylist
Our company often comes out with trips to earn. We have earned over ten and several friends have earned them too. The next one is Disney World in April, 2018. Can take your spouse and up to three children. We are earning it, so are several families we are helping. Their kids are ready, so are ours. Fully paid for, staying on site at a nice resort, everything taken care of. My former job gave us a Butterball turkey for a bonus. I choose to be a man and step up to the plate, not indulge in selfish things that dont benefit my kids and give them the very best. Orizon is already seeing more beaches and sites of the world then most adults.
I find it interesting that $500 to buy a text book is normal, but $60 to start a business is risky. It goes back to how we are raised and what we are taught. We are taught,"Go to college 4 years, get in student loan debt, work for the man until you are 70, then "retire"." The "American Dream" right? As a whole, we are not taught about the fact there is a type of income where you earn while not on the clock, it's called residual income, which creates true freedom. We are not taught about entrepreneurship, we are taught to show up, work for the man, they pay you what they say you are worth, you trade your time for money, that's "normal". I will keep being weird and looking for other weird people with an extra $60 in their pocket and desire to change their future. Lets be weird together.
Glamour check: You wanna know what happens when a business this size has HR problems? You pick up the slack all by your own little self! If you need me, I’ll be behind a sewing machine sewing like the wind. Like forever. #gogirl
The other day I had my first vendor event. It was awesome, but my oh my, a lot of work. Made some new friends, contacts, and got asked to be part of another event. I was hot, sweaty, and tired, at the end of the day, but it was so worth it. I'm #buildingabusiness and that takes hard work!
I so much appreciate the support you show me in this venture and I can't wait to jump in deeper once #gradschool is finished in a few short weeks!
A small portion of friends we've helped walk the beaches of the world with us. In this picture you have fireman, stay at home moms, gym owners, a nurse practitioner, personal trainer, college basketball coach, accountant, teacher, moms, and dads! Every year we help more and more people just like you😎
Many people question stability in what we do. Every...single...pay period since January 2015 we have been paid at the "Diamond" level or higher. Thats chinese to some, but I assure you its good. For example our last two week check was $24,534.93. That includes times we were on an out of country adventure or family getaway. That took alot of work on the front end, don't get me wrong. We don't set around on the couch either, we probably could, but we choose to lead from the front, help more people and attain new goals. We are driven, we have drive, we are locking arms with people who want to blow the roof off 2018.
Just did the math. As a teacher/coach I used to drink a Monster a day, at $2.25 a piece. Since trying Spark I have drank it out of the canister at .71 cents a serving (that's at 40% off). In the past 5 years, I have saved $2,811 because I went from drinking Monsters to Spark. I would say it has been well worth it. That does not even include the workout supplements we get at 40% off, the fish oils, things for our joints, skin, meal replacement shakes, snack bars, etc etc etc.
Poverty mindset thinks day to day, they are just trying to survive the day, they don't even think past dinner tonight. When they look up a year, or 5 years from now, everything is the same, because they woke up and did the same thing everyday.
You have to be able to think a year out, 5 years out. Identity your frustrations. Realize if you do nothing different, nothing will change. Often people say,"I don't have enough money" or "I don't have enough time". What they don't realize is, they will NEVER have enough money or time unless they do something DIFFERENT NOW. All goes back to short term sacrifice equals long term game. We have many people who have been able to replace their second jobs income and therefor get more TIME with family. We have people who have came home from PRIMARY jobs. We have many who earn a extra $500 a month on top of their full time job and it is the difference between a cash Christmas or a plastic one. We have people who don't have to work overtime anymore because they earn a extra $400 a month. I don't have time and I don't have money are the very reason to do something different AND CHANGE THAT FOREVER.
Had a coach tell me one time,"You can be popular or you can be a leader." A leader makes tough decisions, a leader holds people accountable when they are shrinking back from the dreams they said they want to achieve. A leader has strength, beleif and passion, and to some its just too much. We call those people weak.
Had a friend make me aware of the long term impact and importance of taking Attikus fishing on a regular basis. We will keep this up, and when he is older it will be a time he can confide in me, ask me questions, open up and let me know whats going on in his life. It will be a time I can help him sort through his problems.
