If you find yourself up at the Highlands Point trails this weekend, make sure to stop and take in the view from “Zoe's Rest” just off of the Buck Snort trail (south of the East/West Trail). The new benches pay a very special tribute to Zoe Anderson, a 12-year-old who the Highlands Ranch community lost too soon this past summer. Thank you to the Anderson Family for choosing such a beautiful spot in the Backcountry for this memorial.
The Sinners Pew—. - - - “The sinners, the heathens, the agnostics, those who question... They make us sit out here. We can hear the preachings, hear the hymns, but not see their eyes. Instead, we are asked to sit out here, in the cold, in full sight of the Creator they profess to commune with. But this hour, this day, it is us. We who sit outside, without the brick protection, who are connected. We breathe the cold air, yes, but it is the Natural air, not the exhaust of others. Not the recycled air of the hidden.
We sinners, we heathens... we breathe the outside air for ourselves. For us, the penalty would be to be inside...”. Find a place along the way.
