What’s your favorite way to dress up your brows? Are you a pencil, powder, mascara or gel type of person? Let us know in the comments below ⬇️
For me, I like to keep mine simple:
1. Pencil: I fill in any gaps/sparse areas and create the shape with #maccosmetics ‘spiked’ brow pencil. This teeny tiny pencil means unless you’re using A LOT of pressure, you can’t really over do it, and it makes it really easy to mimic brow hairs.
2. Mascara/brow set: I then lightly fluff up the hairs using #benefitcosmetics ‘gimme brow’. This is perfect for holding the hairs in place and giving them an extra hint of colour. TOP TIP: I try to only coat the hairs with this and not actually touch the skin, because when it touches my skin I feel it gets a little messy and unrealistic looking.
3. POWDER: if I need to intensify the colour of my brows, or if my little left side baldy patch (which is the bane of my life 🙄) is too visible, I lightly apply some powder to certain areas. I will never use this towards the front of my brow because I always want to keep that lighter than the rest of my brow. I just use #maccosmetics eyeshadow in ‘Brun’ or sometimes ‘espresso’ as they’re cooler toned, making my brows look more natural.
4. Gel/pomade: Personally, I’m not a huge fan of gels or pomades, but I feel like they work wonders for people who enjoy a very defined, strong brow, or for people who have barely any hair at all. In my regrowth phase of my brows, I used the #anastasiabeverelyhills pomade, and my god does that stuff stay on! If you’re looking for a strong stamp of a brow, a gel or pomade is definitely going to do it for you.
TOP TIP - unless you’re lucky enough to be a fabulous redhead, always look for cooler toned colors in your brow products, anything that brings too much warmth is going to look unnatural and out of place.
And remember, less is always more. Work on building little by little rather than going in too heavy handed. You’ll save so much more time. ⚡️light pressure, little product⚡️
Happy Brow shopping,
